Great location right in the middle of town. We barely noticed any noise from the bar below, even when they had live music. The room and bathroom were more spacious than I expected. The beds were the most comfortable we slept in during our entire trip. When we got to other locations after this stay, my family kept asking if we could go back here instead.
There's really nothing bad to say about this place. We enjoyed being able to have a drink a super short distance from our room in the evening, so a small discount at the bar would have been nice.

The Roman Bath was as close to the centre of York as you can be with all attractions within a few minutes walk. Our stay was just for the night and they do warn that as it is city centre it can be noisy so be aware of that (we had no problems). Very recommended.

We stayed on a Friday night and the music was quite loud as a band was playing. However they finished by 11.30pm so it wasn't a problem.
Overall the room was pretty clean but it was let down by dust on the skirting boards and around the plug fittings etc
Also the window didn't close properly - there was double glazing to the sash window however the original wooden window infront of the glazing did not close completely probably due to warping of the wood.
