We selected this location because it was close to Balboa Park, Zoo and other kid friendly activities. Having the beach steps away made this even better. We enjoyed that it was not directly in front of the beach so we did have constant foot traffic in front of our location.
The house was very well equipped for what we needed. Would have been nice to have plastic wrap and foil, but we made due.
All in all it was great for our stay. The only problem we had was with the parking. The space is super narrow and if you have anything larger than a sub compact it will be difficult to get in and out. And parking in the area is very scarce.
There were many restaurants within walking distance and some nice bakeries and coffee shops.
I would definitely book this place again.

Used the house as base for a mini reunion in the area. We were out and about most of the time so didn’t take advantage of all the house had to offer, but it had all most would need (well stocked kitchen, coffee maker, washer/dryer,linens, etc) House was a short walk to the beach or bay. Tons of restaurants and shopping within walking as well. Parking space was very tight, so recommend you bring/rent a smaller car. The small places seemed to be the norm for the houses as well as businesses in the area. Small car will save you some headaches.

The overall house was as described. It was recently updated and super nice. The owner was also really great to work with and very responsive with any questions. I only had two complaints with the stay. The backyard patio had a nice table set up that was lovely to hangout throughout the day into the night hours. My only complaint with the patio was that it was infested with flys. I believe this was due to the wood chips starting to decay from all the moisture it holds. I would recommend taking the wood chips out and replacing with some nice river rock or artificial turf. The neighbor in the old single store house that is west of us was extremely rude and showed his hate towards tourists. He stormed out 2 times during our stay trying to belittle us. He also stated that he was the property owner of the building (which I confirmed with the owner of this rental he was not). Again, this is something out of the control of the property owner, but it just be aware of the neighbor.

I rented the property for myself and my best friend and her family. We had a blast and enjoyed chilling on the patio and of course going to the beach. Seriously just feet away from the beautiful Mission Beach and bustling boardwalk. My nephew his wife and three boys from Texas joined us for their first California beach day and loved it. They boogie boarded all day! You can't beat the views and the beach lifestyle. I can definitely get used to it!! The house was comfortable and perfect for us!! We never even turned our tv on. So many things to do. We rented bikes and rode up and down the boardwalk all day and checked out the Giant Dipper and all the fun at Belmont Park. I truly had an amazing time on my first beach trip back to Mission Beach since I lived there in the 90's and had a blast sharing my favorite eats and treats with my friends and family! Luigis Italian restaurant, Gelato and the taco shop were a big hit! I can't wait to come back!! Thank you!

The condo was very clean and the owners were thoughtful in supplying you with everything you may need. Only problem we had was the renters on the floor above us were loud and partying all night. This was hard with a 2 year old but other then that our stay was very nice.

Check-in and VRBO customer support were a complete disaster as our family could not access the property manager when she failed to provide us a key-code or instructions about the property. Then spent 2 hours on the phone with numerous VRBO customer support specialists that also failed to resolve the situation. My family sat in a park as darkness fell trying to resolve the situation. We had reached out to the property manager a week prior who said we couldn't get in early because it was being cleaned earlier that day. Nobody was there and then we couldn't get in when it was the correct check-in time. It wasn't until a neighbor of the property contacted the property owner who actually helped us. I would never stay somewhere this property manager represented and would be highly reluctant to use VRBO as their customer support was abysmal with a stranded family of six.

Very nice property with a well stocked kitchen and beach items. We had a couple of unfortunate things happen; when we arrived the upstairs area was infested with termites. Within a couple of hours they had someone clean up and spray. The other odd thing was they supplied a nice grill, but told us we were responsible for the propane, so we had to go to a store and pick up a tank, which was very heavy and inconvenient, to say the least. The owners said we were to receive a discount for the bug situation; however, we have not received anything yet, but it has only been a couple of weeks. Overall, we had a great time, loved the location, loved the unit, and loved the beach. I'm sure these issues have been resolved by the owners, so I feel I can give a "thumbs up" review.

This property was in an amazing location and had everything that was promised as well as needed. The grandkids had a blast, not to mention so did their parents and of course me, the grandma. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. You can tell the owners really want you to feel at home and comfortable in the house, and have made sure you are able too. We are already talking about coming back next year. The only advise I have is to maybe have a pest control spray for the ants, or put out any baits, as it is the time of year and they want to join you . Wonderful time and looking forward to it again!

The location of the house was great! Very close to the beach and Belmont park. The house was perfect for our family. We had all the supplies that we needed and the decor was really cute. The parking area is a little narrow but was still convenient to have two parking spaces.

Great location
Had all the amenities and more. Easy to walk back and forth to beach the entire stay. Patio was large enough for all to enjoy. Great area for pets too. Would definitely like to return to this house next year. We made some great memories at this property.

Overall I was happy with the place . That said, I would suggest upgrading the queen mattress in the room upstairs. I was fine for a couple days but it was not pleasant. The couches downstairs have several stains . It does not seem like a big deal to address it and it would improve the overall impression.

Great Location
The place has had a really nice recent remodel. The layout was great with the master downstairs and two seperate bedrooms and bathrooms up stairs for our teenage kids and friends. Nice outdoor space for the family and our dog. Just steps away from the beach and boardwalk.

The location of this house is far enough from the amusement park area that it's quiet and the beach wasn't crowded but the house is close enough that we could quickly walk to dinner or ice cream. AND....thanks for supplying coffee for the machine!

We enjoyed our stay. Steps to the beach. Take your morning coffee for a stroll along the beach! House was equipped with the essentials. Close to so much. We enjoyed Sea World and a Padres Game. Thank you.

Our multi-generational family of 8 (plus our mini-golden doodle) stayed 3 nights. The renovated condo had some nice updates and features including a nice kitchen, comfortable beds, and adequate seating in the common areas. The location was good, and two parking spaces at the unit was a plus. Lots of nice beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and sand toys were provided.
A few negatives to be aware of: The washer and dryer is very small- especially for large groups. Also, the courtyard is landscaped with wood chips that provide a home to hundreds of flies, making using the beautiful patio area impossible. Flies were a constant pest inside throughout our entire stay because of this.
There is not enough bedding available for a party of 8 or 10, and we were thankful we brought a few extra blankets to use in the couches.
Lastly, the AC unit did not work properly. It ran continuously the first day and never cooled the unit. Eventually we shut it off because of the noisy fan and just opened the windows to cool things off in the evening. If we were there in the middle of summer, not sure what we would have done.
Overall it’s a nice property in a good location. (The fly problem could be fixed simply by removing the wood chips and replacing them with pavers.) The owners are attentive and care about making your stay comfortable. A few tweaks and this property will be 5 star.
