Summer House Sydney is such a great place to stay in Sydney. The staff are so lovely when you arrive and there is a lift to go upstairs with your luggage. The best thing about this hostel is that there is free events on daily e.g. one morning a week there’s free pancakes, one night there was a free pool night, paint night, bracelet making night. I think all these activities rotate and it is the best way to meet people in the hostel. The dorms are big inside and the bathrooms are clean.
The kitchen area isn’t that big and there isn’t really any space to store your food because there’s lots of other people there. There isn’t a lot of decoration around but obviously that doesn’t affect your stay.

My boyfriend and I were in a 4 bed mixed dorm. We cannot fault our room and roommates. The room was tidy and felt clean and comfortable. Great lockable draws for storage too. It is so close to busy streets and walking distance from everything which was great for us!
Unfortunately, the bathrooms and showers were not very clean. Even though we could see they were being cleaned every morning, the people on our floor clearly lacked personal hygiene standards and left hair/used earbuds/spit in the sink. It is a shame because the hostel was good other than that, but a clean bathroom is a big deal for us and this just wasn’t up to standard.
