If you are looking for a place to relax and to be close to the nature in Big Island. This is your it. Also, a great place to have to chance to chat and meet people from different locations. The house is beautiful and it has a well set up to cook and prepare some quick snacks. Easy to park and good location to explore a different part of the island, where you can experiment different black sand beaches. Sleeping in the garden room was a good experience, you feel that you are actually in the jungle. Jeff and Matt were really attentive and helpful. We enjoyed also chatting with them. We will go back for sure.
The only comment we can do is that the bed at the Garden room is small for 2 people, specially if you are in the stocky/big guys group...Lol

We had stayed here before, but the standards have dropped. We came back as we liked to location on the island, the clothing-optional aspect and the sociability of the place.
We were hit by a hurricane when there, so did not have mains power for 4 days, although there was a generator eventually. The staff member had to be cojouled into making sure we had power most of the day, rather than just a couple of hours at a time (no power meant no water, or lighting). Three candles were produced, but other than getting generators, neither the on-site staff or owner who arrived in day-3 of hurricane, made any attempt to make sure we had drinking water or any lighting - we did it ourselves. There was more interest from the owner on his visit to have a social bbq (no food thought) with his friends and hardly spoke to his paying guests.
Overall, the building was dirty and could do with a good clean of floors, inside and out, windows, screens and to make sure the fridge was cleaned out after guest left. Staff was openly smoking weed and even offer some to us! It might be Hawaii and vey chilled on these matters, but this is not something that whould be going on with guests. Things which were broken last year (eg Kitchen light) was still broken and the oven on the large cooker did not work - although we were not told this until we tried to use it, being a self catering establishment. The staff member stated that they could not fix it as it was too old and not being replaced by owner. Whilst this accomodation is cheap by comparison to many other places on the island, many simplier places are much higher in quality and cleanliness. I would question whether I would stay here again.
