The place was wonderful. Very charming setting, clean and comfortable. Very nice alternative to large hotels. We loved it and would definitely stay there again!

The free parking was very challenging and difficult to maneuver. The area too small for anything beyond a compact vehicle. It was very apparent when other rooms had people in them due to lack of insulation.

Very cozy. Super quiet room. We had early check in and the room was super clean. Though the bathroom had a little wear, it was beautiful and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well, unfortunately the lamp was wonky. The breakfast was super yummy! The parking is tight but I really enjoyed my stay. It was the perfect place to stay while visiting my kid at UCSB. I will stay again.

Bautiful interior, great breakfast.

The full breakfast each morning was great! Each afternoon they offered complimentary wine and cookies. A very nice added touch.
The only thing they can improve would be to include chips or nuts with the afternoon wine.

Excellent. Thank you!

The place was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ok. The juice they provided was watered down. Location is convenient but parking was hard to find. It can get noisy at times from the street. Great for short stay visitors.

Fireplace did not work. Room is a lot smaller than in pictures.

The word "outrageous" doesn’t even begin to describe our experience at Hideaway Santa Barbara. After hours of driving and with a CONFIRMED and PAID reservation in hand, we were met by a receptionist who coldly informed us about a double booking and that, regrettably, we had no room. While situations like this can happen, what truly turned our disappointment into frustration was the utter lack of solutions or compensations offered.
The only glimmer of "help" was a suggestion to try our luck at another nearby hotel, with no guarantee of availability or a reasonable price. Upon insisting that she assist us by calling the other hotel, the price we were offered was almost double and, to add insult to injury, they had no parking available.
It's absolutely inconceivable that, in 2023, with such advanced technology and reservation systems, customers are subjected to this treatment and these circumstances. Overbooking management and reservation errors are things that hotels should have under control to avoid such inconveniences to their guests.
What could have been a pleasant stay quickly turned into a stressful and exhausting situation, ruining our plans and leaving us scrambling to find a place to rest after a long journey.
Hideaway has demonstrated a staggering lack of respect and consideration towards us as customers and, what’s even more astonishing, a total lack of preparedness to handle situations like this in a professional and efficient manner.

Worst stay of my life. The room, which was advertised online as a beautiful room with a porch, fireplace, and couch, was terribly run down, didn’t even have a closet or safe, and could comfortably fit a fruit fly and nothing more.
They advertised that we’d have a parking spot, but we didn’t - the lot was full.
We were the downstairs room, and the walls are paper thin, so we heard the people above us at 7am and at 1am stomping around, kids running, moving furniture, etc.
The staff was not helpful and very dismissive of concerns. The service and “amenities” were akin to staying at a hostel.
There was a homeless person who lived directly outside the “hotel.”
I felt like I was robbed being charged anything to stay at this dump. I would’ve been better off staying at a motel.

Look no further.... It's as perfect as it gets! Friendly staff--easy parking...safe...convenient and right near the harbor. Room was spotless!

Quaint just nice
We enjoyed

The staff was friendly. HOWEVER, for $750 per day, one gets no closet, no drawers, no phone, no shelf space whatsoever in the bathroom, and a breakfast offering with fake OJ, likely powdered eggs and second rate coffee more suitable for a motel six. The location is also quite poor with several homeless people on the block. Maybe worth $200 per night. A rip-off at $750.!

Lovely hotel. Leniece checked us in and was so kind and helpful

This is not a good location and the room quality is LOW for the high price. Simply not a good value.

Cute hotel. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Super kind. Breakfast was made to order and delicious! Plus it was included. The little extras like the fresh fruit, coffee, tea and breakfast made it all worthwhile. Great location too.

Our unit was clean & peaceful, without bells & whistles, which was nice, like staying with family & having your own space. However, parking was an issue multiple times, and the breakfast is apparently only available from 8:00-9:50am, which was not helpful. There was no room for hospitality one day at 9:57am and they didn't even have to give us breakfast on 2 of the 4 days we were there. Easy walk to wharf/beachfront activities & restaurants.

Lovely little hotel. Stayed in the double room. Was exactly as pictured. Very quiet and relaxing. We could walk to SBCC no problem. I look forward to staying here again.

We stayed in the large suite and it was very spacious for a family of two adults and two teenagers. Lots of room to spread out and comfy beds. Location is very close to downtown area and beach. Breakfast was quick and very reasonable amounts with good coffee (better than standard buffets). Only downside is parking is primarily meant for compact cars. Front desk person let us park in handicap since there weren't any guests with this need but only one other spot for larger SUV size vehicles.

We had a wonderful stay at Hideaway! So comfortable with wonderful receptionists. The place was clean and charming - with easy parking, breakfast included, and walkable to the beach and restaurants.

Nothing special just a very adequate hotel. Not a great location parking is horrible and breakfast is not great. So many better properties in Santa Barbara for less

Very nice hotel, cute room very near lots of dining/drinking options and walkable to the beach.

This is one of our favorite places to stay in SoCal and have stayed here several times. Lovely, hidden B&B - if you arrive after dark, good chance you'll miss the driveway. The staff is friendly, the property is clean, simple, and elegantly designed. The rooms are clean and cozy. My only complaint is that it's owned by Kirkwood which often means B.S. "Corporate Policies," which take away some of the small B&B charms.

Great breakfast and wonderful staff. The hotel was beautiful.

Room and breakfast was great. Checking in was a disappointment due to the employee not being there. There were 3 guest waiting in the lobby and no one there…we where the last of the 3 quest to arrive and the only one who stayed to finally get an emergency number from another guest and that person checked us in. Weird experience

This property is very misleading, it looks cute but it was a horrible stay. The room smelled of bad toilet or floor cleaner, parking was a complete pain with our SUV, we could hardly fit let alone take out baby out. The walls are paper thin, if you’re a light sleeper this place isn’t for you because you hear every car and the loud train that comes by. Breakfast wasn’t great, vegetarian only one option, muffins undercooked and they didn’t have a baby high chair (in case your traveling with a little one). Also no elevator to get to your room so again with a stroller, car seat and luggage, it wasn’t great because the stair way was narrow. Bed was hard and the pillows were not even regular size, they were all half pillows but lots of them which made it awkward to sleep on. Lastly as soon as you step outside there’s homeless on the corner…all in all for the money, it was definitely not worth it because we could’ve paid half for the night and stayed somewhere less “cute looking”.

Nice room!

A good place to stay and location

All in all, a nice experience unfortunately just not up to their price point. Wouldn't be hard to think like a weary traveler and put more thought and a little more $ into the stay to earn $800 a night ratings
Likes:
- Clean refurbished and cute rooms, quiet (#7 anyway), some amenities
- Covered parking
- Staff helpful on arrival
- General location
Needs upgrading
- Signage - finding it isn't easy, tight driveway entrance with no lighted signs for driveway nor room numbers male later arrival not a nice experience
- More and nicer amenities. At this price point, there should be coffee in the rooms, slipper for cold morning, more filtered water, a few snacks. FInishes are cute but not higher end. They need more artisan food options to play B&B at this price point. Fresh muffins brought to your room, etc
- Better policies. Like others I booked the ADA room as I wanted a fireplace and the prices honestly are crazy. They should amend the listing to note that it is loud over the kitchen. When I wanted to switch, the offered to "upgrade" me to a lower priced room for more money instead of acknowledging their issue and comp-ing the difference
- Reentry after 10pm - a mystery. Again lighted signs?

It’s literally a hideaway. Place is cute, super well maintained, clean, service is great! Free parking and complimentary breakfast!! Definitely a hidden gem!

Cute, hidden little SB stay. Bright, beach vibe, clean and well laid out. Stayed overnight on our trip up from LA through Malibu, Santa Barbara, up to Big Sur and Carmel. Would definitely stay here again. Very charming, B&B feel.

Very nicely furnished/decorated, updated and clean property and room, loved covered parking. Loved the custom breakfast, was GREAT! Didn't care for the noise from street in my room, but gal did warn me up front. I do wish it mentioned THIS on line when reserving this room. Wish it had a pool or spa.
