The continental breakfast was more than adequate with a pot per person of tea/coffee .The full car park indicated that the hotel was a popular choice to stay which was not surprising
As a bonus literally 2 mins walk away is the Cristallo Italian restaurant,fantastic food,generous portions and wonderful friendly service

Parking was easy, safe and not expensive. Perfect location as close to nearby shops, park and seafront but still quiet. The staff were excellent and there was a good choice at breakfast. I would highly recommend Mount Stuart for a decent, clean and affordable place to stay.

I have expressed my concerns regarding my requests/worries upon booking, from day 1, check in, as I had no reply since booking & calls on our way to the hotel. I have health issues so I always have to research accommodations & make requests. That week was the heatwave week so my worry turned into anxiety.
Be aware that their website & the Expedia website on Mount Stuart Hotel IS NOT UPDATED. Certainly when we checked out. One of the many concerns in my conversation with David (manager). Lucas was the staff I spoke to first and he was empathetic & lovely to make up/fix some of the issues. I even volunteered to descale their 2 kettles (which is NOT AVAILABLE IN ROOMS ANYMORE) but he did it, not only for me because they are now in a common room.
I did understand their reasons and luckily I came prepared (cos of the worry when I did not receive ANY REPLY), with my own electric fan, sheets, antibac spray/wipes & bottled water. My requirements are not by choice but due to health issues. So, like what I learned from David, they are understaffed and could not read messages or answer calls. It's a small hotel with lovely, hard working youth, cleaning & housekeeping plus the lady in reception. Oh and the toiletries, he said are complimentary and one/ room in the duration of stay. I understood why it was cheap but I had to show them photos of how unclean our room was when we checked in. I did appreciate his gesture of goodwill of free late check out until mid day.
