The humidity that you smell after the apartment has been closed - windows and doors. But this is not the hotel’s issue; it is like this with the most of the hotels and houses on the island.

The apartment itself has been a really good size for a family of four. The rooms are spacious, including the bathroom, and the sofa bed is particularly good — it is a decent size and, importantly, very comfortable. The kitchen is also well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday, which has made things very easy with two children. The complex as a whole has plenty to keep families occupied. There is good children’s entertainment, and the three outdoor pools are a real highlight. There is plenty of space around the pools and, during our stay, we have generally found enough sun loungers without having to fight for a spot. There is also a good restaurant on site, located away from the main reception and central accommodation areas. As we were self-catering and didn’t pay for the food package, we can’t comment on the quality or value of the food. For anyone who likes being active, the sports facilities are another strong point. The tennis and padel courts are good, and there is a decent gym facility as well. Housekeeping has also been good. The cleaners regularly changed the bedding and emptied the bins, and overall the apartment and complex have been kept clean. Location and getting around The location is convenient for a family holiday. Port de Pollença is around a 10–15 minute walk away, although it is worth bearing in mind that this can feel a little longer when walking with younger children, particularly in the heat. There is also a local bus route nearby, making it relatively easy to get around without a car. We used Majorcab for taxis during our stay. The app is similar to Uber, although it doesn’t have quite the same premium feel or slickness to it. However, the important thing is that it worked well. Even during busier periods, the waiting times were manageable and we found the taxi fares to be fair.

The main area where the apartment could be improved is the bathroom. It feels a little dated and could benefit from being updated. We also noticed that the toilet could develop an unpleasant smell if the toilet seat was left up for a while. Something as simple as an air freshener or another way of dealing with this would probably make quite a difference. We have also had some issues with ants in the apartment. It hasn’t been a major problem for us and hasn’t particularly affected our stay, but there have been enough of them to notice. Given that this is a ground-floor apartment in a hot Mediterranean climate, some ants may be fairly difficult to avoid, particularly during the warmer months, but it would still be worth the hotel keeping an eye on the issue and treating apartments where necessary

The air conditioning worked well. The location is convenient, close to Port de Pollença and its shops. The female receptionist who welcomed us late on 8 July was polite and helpful.

The stay was unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. Our children's sheet had blood stains, the room was dirty with bugs and ants, and there was mould in the bath. See photos. It was also very noisy from the rooms upstairs and next door. Although reception agreed to change our room the next day, the sofa bed for our children was not prepared when we returned that evening. The maid seemed annoyed, spoke to us in Spanish despite us not understanding her, and became more irritated when we asked if she could speak English. Towels were not replaced on Sunday. To be fair, they mentioned in their lengthy terms of service that the cleaning service was not working on Sundays, but we hadn't noticed, nor is it acceptable not to offer 7-day service. On the evening of 12 July, the male receptionist was extremely rude when we asked for towels, saying he was doing us a favor “for the last time.” We went to the reception ourselves, where he tried to double down and show us their lengthy piece of paper with the terms. Sheets were never changed during our seven-night stay. Shampoo and body wash were not refilled for a family of four, and toilet paper was repeatedly left almost finished. We were also charged €18 to use the safe, even though it was clearly listed among the facilities on Booking. We did not expect an additional charge. They also required a €5 cash deposit for the safe key, which was returned at checkout when we handed the key back. Finally, the hotel’s “lake” looked more like a poorly maintained swamp.
