Wouldn't wish on my worst enemy

This place was clearly rushed open to take advantage of desperate foreigners around New Year/high season. It was not ready and the room I was in clearly had not been open since pre-COVID or even longer. Myself and the other guests in the dorm (no. 1) were informed as soon as we arrived that the door on the room was 'in maintenance'. What this really meant was: there were no keys for anyone, so the door had to be kept open on the latch 24/7 and not closed or else we would be locked out. Literally anyone could walk in. I have stayed in hostels all around the world, I have never come across a place where I was not provided with a key and you could not close the door. Booking.com should not be allowing somewhere like that to list on its platform. It also became apparent that the same was true for the other 3 dorm rooms on the property, so our door being in 'maintenance' was a complete lie. We were told the solution was to put our belongings in the wooden drawers under the beds and provided with the cheapest of locks for these. When we opened these drawers, the smell would have knocked you out - there were both dead and live mice, straw and animal excrement. Therefore we had no choice but to not use them and none of us in the room felt safe leaving our valuables. I complained again later and the member of staff literally laughed. There was no wifi in the rooms, no hot water, no soap, no toilet paper, during the night the noise of mice squeaking and moving around the room... beds were ok but sheets and blankets very musty. I tried to speak with the manager to complain properly and ask for my money back, I went twice in the morning and he wasn't there. The staff who were there did not speak English well but told me he would definitely be there at 2pm. I returned at 2pm, and they told me he was somewhere else and would not be back until 6pm. I gave up and left, feeling scammed.
