There was no hot water in the shower! Nor in the 2nd room that our companions were in. The pool and jacuzzi was also unheated. (A posted sign informed us about the pool.) The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The general condition of the hotel was ok. But after a long day of snowboarding, what was REALLY needed was a hot, or as least warm shower. The excuse given was that this is a small town and it’s hard to get someone to look at the plumbing. When we suggested perhaps a partial refund, we were told it was not possible since we reserved via 3rd party. Really!? A resort destination. Ok. Whatever.

Location was great! Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was as helpful as I needed them to be. Did I mention the location was great?

Kinda dated, hot tub and pool we’re no operational. Breakfast was a joke. If not for area, this place would nonexistent.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Had trouble with the heater adjustment and the sink stopper that wasn’t working. Otherwise, no serious issues. Breakfast included but don’t expect too much. Price was very reasonable for Mammoth Lakes. Close to ski rentals and grocery store. Will definitely stay again.

The motel is beat up and needs to be upgraded. The staff was wonderful, hard working, friendly. That was the only positive about our stay.
Pool was non-operational (heater was broken). That was the main reason we booked. The beds were old. The carpets were gross and there was about three minutes of hot water for a shower.

No hot water for the shower. The hot tub and pool were both closed for maintenance with an unknown opening date.

The hotel needs total remodeling. At least new paint, carpet!!!! A deep cleaning is needed. They have had amazing skiing seasons in the last few years that they should put back some of those profits back into improving the hotel.

Booked this particular hotel for pool and hot tub, neither were available. Tried to cancel, hotel.com said it was down to hotel hotel said opposite. Very run down, but staff very helpful. Really overpriced.

Very spacious and well appointed room. Pillows and bed very comfortable. A little challenging to get temperature regulated through the night. Building is a little dated and could use a refresh. Plaster in Jacuzzi is one example. Covered parking a real plus in a ski town!

Place needs a lot of maintenance, but the staff is helpful and friendly. Location is right in town and easy to get to the mountain.

Room is spacious and the complimentary breakfast is good. Location is convenient.

Super run down, zero maintenance.
Came for indoor pool to keep kids busy. Only to find out that it was not heated. Message said they need boiler part. Wonder if it was there for weeks… broken tile everywhere. Orange cones inside to warn of trip hazards. Exposed molded and rotten studs. Dirty aged carpet from 70’s , then water leak in the hallway all the way down to the second floor. Good location, but Bishop is a better option if you don’t want to leave a small fortune in Mammoth .

Unfortunately, pool was closed all the time. We chose this hotel because they have sauna and pool but couldn’t use it. Because it was closed for cleaning for 2 days.

Staff is always super friendly & helpful. Room size is big and location is great, but the rooms & furniture are very old and dingy.

Comfy as I’ve always remembered. No frills and clean enough to get a nice night of sleep. Great to see the bathroom renovation that lifts up the room a bit. Otherwise, very nice comfy stay. 👍

Faucet is hard to open (old school) only 1 small soap for 4 people. I’m expecting that there’s a shampoo, body soap and conditioner in the bathroom. Hotel is expensive but their breakfast is not good

Great location with easy access to drive to the slopes. Right next to a Starbucks and next to a shopping center with a market and a breakfast place. And easy to walk to other places near by. Our room was clean, staff was nice. Decent warm breakfast in the morning. Rooms were quiet despite it being a holiday weekend.

The location was excellent. The hotel seems to be remodeling so the hallways and the pool still look like it needs work but our room looked newly remodeled and clean. Breakfast was not so great, I would skip it next time since nothing tasted good and there was no staff around to clean up or replenish supplies so guests were looking for plasticware and making a mess. Other than that, the staff we dealt with were nice and helpful. I would come back.

The room is dirty, except new bathroom

The rooms are lacking any insulation. We could hear the people in the next room, talking, snoring and each time someone was walking up over our heads, the ceiling was shaking...

Where do we begin? First, we had been given a room that not been cleaned after other guests prior use/stay. We did receive another room with a renovated bathroom, which was the best thing about the hotel other than the front desk staff (they were apologetic and great). Yes, the hotel needs a major renovation upgrade as it is dingy and dated, but that is no excuse for not being clean. Hallways, elevator, corners of our room had build up of dirt and grime. This includes around the mirror in the vanity area. The bed sheets in our replacement room had to be replaced as well the first night as it looked as if they didn’t replace the sheets from the previous guests (long hairs in between and dirty). We went to go use the hot tub the second night and just said, “nope” as the water didn’t look clean and the whole pool area needs a facelift. Other gripes include that our microwave didn’t heat properly and the hot water for the shower was very inconsistent. Will not stay here again until the owners decide to put some TLC into it.

I have never seen any hotels that served rotten apples like this Shilo Inn. It's OK not to serve any fruits at all...but don't treat guests with insults like this. Not to mention the waffle pan was sticky and messy...no one wants to use it. In short, it was bad. My kids refused to have breakfast at the hotel.

This Hotel needs a Management staff and OWNER to care more about their Guest. The hotel needs alot of work as far as remodel and most inportant to be clean, The whole Hotel needs to be better taken care of. So sad such a nice building that has alot of potential, For the Cost per stay is not worth it.

The place is a bit dated and could use some renovations. At any rate, the staff was friendly, and the rooms are spacious. It’s about an 8 minute walk to the nearest shuttle stop. Starbucks is right next door.

Not the fanciest place. But good value expeciallyconsideration.

Good place for the price. Room was surprisingly big. The breakfast was pretty disappointing they couldn't refill anything, no eggs.

The heated pool and hot tub was nice for the winter time. The steam room was out of order. Internet was very slow. Thought about going to the starbucks next door for internet. The hot water ran out in my room. The staff moved me to a different room when I called to notify them. One of the days the breakfast area got moved outside to the lobby due to what looked like issue within one if the rooms. Other than that the breakfast was fine the previous day. The slow internet was the biggest issue for me so if that is important then I would not recommend.

The room was dingy, old, heater was extremely loud, was not happy with the stay. Did not have a great experience.

Very old and outdated hotel- paper thin walls, disgusting carpet covered with pet stains that had clearly never been cleaned, layers of dirt all around bathroom window. I'm not picky but I'd like to feel comfortable not wearing shoes in a hotel room. Sheets and beds were clean and comfortable- pillows were nice- kids enjoyed the pool- "breakfast was fruit loops" and bagels- nothing hot available - not even oatmeal packets. Overpriced and gross. Service was great and all employees were super helpful.

Family sky trip at Mammoth and our third time staying at Shilo Inn, we really enjoyed the hotel for the size of the room with 2 queen beds and the indoor pool and spa area. But this time we were very disappointed and hoping they get better for us to stay again.
What I understand, the manager was never there and the morning staff didn’t know what to do or what to respond, the hot breakfast ran out at 7:30am, no towels at the pool area in the morning, the steam sauna still not working since the first time we stayed at this hotel and at the pool area and the rooms needed a lot of cleaning. My son got super allergic because of the dirt of the bedroom. I really hope they get better because the hotel have a lot of potential.

The staff that greeted us was great but the hotel looked very dirty and the carpets were super dirty

On the first day Sunday, they provided scrambled eggs and potatoes, and on our second day Monday, they said they ran out. So not a complete breakfast provided. Also, the room is in need of simple repairs like cracked lampshades, missing knob on shower to switch from bath to showerhead, and drapes ripped and old. Also, one of the three chairs at the table needs stains cleaned. A simple attention to detail would make it nicer.

Carpets throughout really needs to be replaced.. spa was chipping away when i was in it. theres a bad smell in the bathroom of rm 114. Maids should clean windowsill. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Luv how big the rooms are. The staff were all so nice..

Seemed to be the best value hotel with a hot tub when I looked for the area of Mammoth Lakes. The light fixture by bed had a seriously cracked shade, and the heater/cooler unit knocked while we were trying to sleep. Beds and carpet were clean, lots of sinks in the room. The oven was down for breakfast so there was no complimentary hot food. In short -- the hotel needs some work, but the hot tub and sauna (has a steam room as well but it was out of service) was good. Price was about $125 for a Tuesday night in November.

We were leaving around 5 am. A bear was walking toward me as i was loading my luggage in my trunk in the parking lot.

The hotel had no soap available for the rooms. They had run out, and encouraged the use of shampoo for washing and bathing. Worse yet, staff did not advise guests of the lack of soap upon check-in.

The hotel staff is very kind.

Very rundown room and property . It had potential if fixed up . Good service from the clerk .
