This is not a luxury hotel, if you want modern luxury this is not it. The hotel has charm however there is a lot of updating needed. The blind in our room had some permanent staining, the balcony needs a good cleaning and at night we smelled smoke from outside. The water in the shower is nice and hot, although there is not much water pressure and if the next room runs water or flushes the toilet you will get very cold water. It is a a good location and close to many things within walking distance.

Being a platinum blonde it was troublesome finding 5 long dark hairs in the shower. The glasses were obviously used so just reused my own water bottle. I left early. Was expecting more considering the price. Thankfully i sleep with a sound machine becaus there was some type of machinery going off about every 20 minutes and the hallway was so poorly lit I truly questioned my safety. The employees were so nice but everything else was extremely unsatisfactory

Great stay! This was a last minute one night trip. We arrived very early, 10am and check in was at 4. We were able to valet our car, and we checked in at 1! They called when our room was ready. We upgraded to a balcony room, which wasn't really worth it cause there were no chairs or anything on the balcony. The room was spacious, very comfortable beds. The bathroom could use some tlc. TV and ac worked perfectly. The hotel is also very central to all the great things to do. Lots of dining in area. The valet team were amazing! 10 out of 10 would return.

The plumbing is dated and sounds like room is about to blow up. Hit water comes and goes. We have all suffered from bad plumbing as Alex step in and out from the shower with the hot water.

Absolutely LOVED this hotel. Beautiful and conveniently located. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Can not wait to return.

The hotel and location are beautiful. The customer service, not so much. After I injured my foot on a chair at the hotel property making it incredibly difficult to walk or stand as it had filled with blood, I requested a later check out so I could stay in my room to keep a shoe off and my foot elevated for a little longer. I made multiple attempts to connect with guest services via phone, text and in person for a later check out was given a cold run around every time. I was told that if need to check back in the morning, that I’d have to pay a large fee, etc. I got injured oh their property and I have never experienced such coldness and unhelpful service in my entire life. I have been to third world countries where the hotel staff do not know what to do to enhance a guest’s experience and go above and beyond. This is a great place to stay if you don’t need to stay if you never need to interact with the staff. Beware.

I sent my parents there for Mothers Day weekend. They were happy as hell. Loved the location. Bragged about the breakfast a lot, especially the host who was apparently funny and amazing. Thought it was really cool that the tour guides would actually come pick you up at the hotel instead of walking to a pick up point. They loved hanging out around the pool. Beds were extremely comfortable. I'm probably going to have to send them there again since their trip was cut short.

My recent stay at The DeSoto in Savannah, GA, offered a glimpse into the city's rich history within the walls of this charming establishment. Boasting a historic look and feel, the hotel exudes an old-world charm that immediately transports you to another era.
One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the friendly and welcoming staff. From check-in to check-out, their warm hospitality made me feel right at home. Their dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay was evident in every interaction.
However, it's important to note that while the hotel's historic ambiance adds to its allure, some aspects could benefit from a refresh. The rooms, though spacious, appeared dated, with furniture and towels showing noticeable wear and tear. It's clear that the passage of time has left its mark on the accommodations.
The biggest drawback during my stay was the condition of the shower. Despite its vintage charm, the plumbing issues were hard to ignore. The loud creaking of pipes and inconsistent water pressure, fluctuating from hot to cold and soft to medium pressure, made for an uncomfortable shower experience. It was a disappointing aspect of an otherwise pleasant stay.
In conclusion, The DeSoto offers a unique glimpse into Savannah's past with its historic ambiance and friendly staff. However, guests should be aware that the hotel's age is evident in certain areas, particularly in the rooms and plumbing. While my overa

We love everything about the DeSoto! This was our 3rd visit this year and the hotel is consistently excellent in all areas. All staff is friendly and helpful, and rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for us to be close to our daughter at SCAD, as well as restaurants and for sightseeing/shopping. We’ll be back!

A perfect example of what could have been a wonderful stay, made not so much, due to a series of missteps. First, upon check in I was given a handicap-accessible room. I was neither told that it would be one, nor asked if that was OK, I was simply given the room key. I stay at up to a dozen hotels per month for work, so I know that a handicap-accessible room is not necessarily a problem. This one was. The main issue, a safety one, is that the shower curtain only came to 2" above the tile floor, meaning showering turned the entire floor into a disgusting, slippery puddle, that required all the room's towels to dry. Then I realized that the room was also an adjoining one. I soon discovered the two ladies in the next room practically shouted at each other the entire time they were in their room--which was almost always. I heard every word spoken (shouted) for two days. They also had their TV at maximum volume nonstop. By the time I realized these two unacceptable room aspects, I had unpacked, and changing rooms wasn't practical. Finally, I requested a hair dryer from the front desk (there was one in the room, but very cheap and nearly useless). I waited...and waited. Finally my room phone rang. The lady at the front desk said that they had "tried to deliver it, but your Do Not Disturb sign was on the door, so they brought back it to the front desk". Everyone knows that DND sign is for HOUSEKEEPING, not something that a guest has specifically requested. Very poor.

The location is great, staff very nice. The reason for 3 star is I paid extra for a balcony room and the door to the balcony is screwed shut. They did offer to move us but we had already showered and settled in. I asked to speak to a manager twice while we were there but no one replied.

Overall stay was good! Our room was right next to the elevator and so you heard that noise all night. It was a busy hotel so I think it the room was in a different location it would have been a better experience.

My tub was dirty and when the housekeeper came she didn’t replace my towels. When I asked for more towels they told me I had to wait 30 minutes to get them because they were changing shifts, or I could just come down and get the myself. It was already 10:30 pm and we had a long day so I just sent my son down to get the towels. The liquid soap in the shower was also all gone. When asked for more, I got bar soap. Those were my only issues. The valet attendants were very nice and helpful. The lady who checked me in was also very nice.

Hotel was clean and bright. Valet service was excellent. Restaurant was ok. Bed was fantastic but bathroom was deplorable, had to sit sideways on the toilet,, shower had absolutely no water pressure and drain was very slow. Pool area was great. Alot of wasted space in the room with not enough furniture.

Valet staff is awesome front desk staff not so much. Bartender very knowledgeable. Super cool good guy. No business center. Great views we were on the 13th floor.

We loved the hotel. We loved its location. The chambermaid was somewhat lax in their attention to detail in the washroom — missing towels, no towels. But in general we loved the hotel.

Not a good stay, the hotel was old, they did not have enough rollaway beds for our group, the worst part was they lost our car keys upon check out.

Our room was super noisy. The AC was so loud and would make a rattling sound and we woke up every time it turned on during the night. Then only one elevator was working and had to wait for 20 minutes to get to the lobby.
