Air conditioning didn't adequately cool room. Location was great, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable (besides the temperature).

For me, the hotel being on the edge of Balboa Park, it was perfect, as I could walk to all the museums, in the park. The hotel is located in a nice part of town where restaurants are close by. As the hotel is a converted apartment building, all the rooms are spacious with a nice size bathroom, shower only, and reasonably sized kitchen, with appliances and utensils, and an eating area attached. There is, also, a couch and two chairs in the room.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and helpful with any questions.
For a century old building, it is well maintained. However, be aware, the lone elevator is a bit slow and small in capacity.
All in all, I’ve not stayed in a better hotel.
