Lovely comfy bed and love the look of the place. Nice and cosy
The lack of staff may be handy and a less expensive way of running the hotel but it felt empty and impersonal. Having stayed here before the previous owners where nice to speak to and welcoming.

Great location; peaceful, lovely views. Nice decor and the bar was a good idea. Very quiet. Good spacious and powerful shower. Kind of enjoyed the freedom of there being no staff but it was kind of strange for a hotel.
The toilet seat kept falling on me :-D it needs fixing. No loo roll was left. We had to go out and buy some!! Didn't want to make a phone call just for that. Would have preferred a cooked breakfast for the price and in the Autumn. Would have been nice to be told that builders would be right above our room blasting out music and drilling upon arrival. We could have just arrived later if we'd been told.

Location was good
Heavy rain and the room I was in sounded like it had a tin roof - it was so loud

"Our host collected us from the train station, which was welcome. We were wonderfully looked after this gorgeous old hotel in the forest, walking distance from Machynlleth.
Beautiful rooms named afte..."
