Fantastic vacation home. Nicely located all everything, restaurants and shopping. Host was quick to respond to all questions and provided info on the area. Great for the kids to play in water. Fantastic view and lots of privacy. We had lots of space for nine people.

We all stayed as scuba divers. Plenty of room to spread out and dry gear after dives. Close to plenty of interesting places to eat and not far from dive shops and docks.

Family vacation to celebrate grandma’s 101st birthday. Everyone from age 7 to age 101 had a great time. Plenty to see and do on the property as well as off. my mom already told us for her 102nd birthday she wants to celebrate there.

Great hidden gem, so private and everything you need. The view is better in person than the photos. Coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. Will stay again and bring more family because there was so much space for everyone.

This place is perfect for a large family or 2 small familys to share. Privacy at its finest, great lil beach, the back yard and dock is where we spent 90% of our time. We had a wonderful time hanging out, cooking steaks on the grill and just escaping reality. We will 100% come back again!

We arrived at Martha's lovely cottage home in Key Largo on Labor day 9/5/2016. We were happy to have arrived from Hollywood. Florida. Not a long drive to get to our getaway. I was very impressed my our name being posted outside. (VIP) The first thing we did is a thorough walk of the cottage and the beautiful scenery outside. The walk takes you down your private sandy walk into the most amazing view. I was so amazed we had found her place and were able to say we stayed here. We had a wonderful time and it will be an experience we will never forget. The Perez family

Rented the beach house for 4 nights with 8 people. Interior space very accommodating and plenty of space. Fully equipped and comfortable. Could use some TLC outside ( hot tub unappealing with dirty cover) and shrubbery needs some work. Only real upgrade I'd suggest is a gas barbecue vs the old coal grill. A house like this really needs it to cook all the fish we caught ( a hose should be run to the fillet table on the dock). But overall , a good vacation rental.

This home is truly a hidden gem! It was perfect, from the water views & beach area to the surprisingly spacious house. We fit 4 adult couples comfortably for four days. We were in town for a wedding at the Key Largo Lighthouse and were able to walk to the wedding venue as well as walk to the Holiday Inn to visit friends in town for the wedding as well. We were so happy with the accommodations, the house was well maintained, there were kayaks on property to use, linens were plentiful and Martha was very helpful when booking and was available during our stay as well. We are already looking forward to going back for another vacation!

We rented the three houses for a family wedding for a week. The 4 bedroom house is spacious and very comfortable for families. It was quiet and we had plenty of room for everyone. Our daughter's wedding of 100 was too large to hold on the property but it was almost next door so we were able to work on flowers and centerpieces there at the Alamar. My daughter and the bridesmaids got ready in the house and the photographer took amazing photos on the property of the wedding party before the ceremony. We rented a boat for fishing and docked it at the Alamar, we spent the days after the wedding kayaking, fishing, snorkeling and sitting on the dock watching amazing sunsets with family. Martha was very helpful and accommodating, we couldn't have had a better place to stay. Everyone who stayed had a great time and those who stayed in other places commented on what a beautiful place we had for the week and several are planning on bringing family back in the future to the Alamar.

This is the second time we have visited this property and we will definitely be back!This property really is the greatest location! Beautiful sand beach. Extremely well maintained spacious home and grounds with everything you need. The bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds and provide lots of privacy. Great back porch leading to the sand and garden and your own private dock with boat ramp. It's a very quiet relaxing location and is in close proximity to shopping and restaurants.

We rented this home for 3 couples and our 3 kids so that we could together for a friends wedding in Key Largo. The house exceeded our expectations in terms of the size and amenities. We enjoyed having separate bedrooms and bathrooms and plenty of room for the kids to run around. The outdoor area was perfect for relaxing and watching the kids play in the sand and hang out on the dock (it was too cold to get in the water). We had everything we needed and was able to cook meals together without having to bring/purchase anything except groceries. The only disappointment was that the hot tub was not working!

We just returned from a wonderful week at this gorgeous location. Our first day could not have been more perfect. Upon arrival we were greeted by Al who made sure we knew to call if we needed anything. The kids immediately hopped in the kayaks to explore, and we were joined by the manatees at the dock while watching a spectacular sunset. We took the kayaks out each day and were lucky enough to see dolphins on two days. Make sure to take the kayaks across to the mangrove island and watch for a variety of fish, horseshoe crabs and starfish. The water is amazingly clear! The house itself was perfect for our group of nine. Everything was clean and comfortable. You can enjoy your days in the hammocks, on the dock, or on the front porch just staring at the Bay. The guys fished with Sailors Choice and we took their catch up to the Fish House where they cooked it for us and included it in our meal. Mrs. Mac's Kitchen is a must and is walking distance to the house. We also enjoyed Hobo's. Great food and large portions. Snorkeling out in the reefs is a must do. A day trip down to Key West completed our vacation. We all agreed this was a vacation we would do all over again. Thanks to Al and Martha for sharing this beautiful home!

This is truly a great property and perfect for a family or just a Keys vacation. Ours was a family getaway, and we were traveling with 5 adults and 5 kids (ages 6 -12). The kids were always busy either playing in the large yard on the hammocks or paddling the bay on kayaks or swimming off the beach or playing with the resident scallps. Sadly, Old Grandpa scallop was killed by a snail and offered to a snapper for breakfast. As bummed as we were for Old Grandpa, it was a wonderful learning experience for the kids. The dock is a neat little ecosystem as well as a great place to relax and watch the best sunsets in the country. In the evening, you can relax on the dock to live music being played at a nearby waterside bar/restaurant. The days can be a little warm so the porch in back of the hourse makes for a great retreat. The three fans make it a comfortable area to eat meals, enjoy a drink, and watch the kids as they play. The house is conveniently located next to a large selection of recreational providers offering diving, snorkeling, fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities. For foodies, there are plenty of excellent dining establishments between Key Largo and Islamorada. As far as the house is concerned, it's very spacious with three bedrooms with attached baths and a fourth room with two twin trundle beds (4 beds total). We did not realize the twin beds were trundles prior to our stay and were afraid we might need air mattresses for some of the kids. It was a welcome relief to have four of the older the kids sleeping together in the same room. The beds and bathrooms were very clean. There is a large screen cable TV with a DVD player that didn't get much use. The kitchen is large and comes with everything you need to cook meals, etc. Overall, this house provided the perfect vacation for our family. There is so much to do in the Keys we were literally outside from breakfast to dinner. We really loved the fact this property offered everything the resorts offer but without the accompanying crowds. It truly is a private tropical oasis and one of those places you hate leave. Last but not least, Martha is a great down to earth property owner. She made our stay nice and easy from start to finish. We had no issues whatsoever, but I am confident had we needed assistance she would have been there to help.

We visited this place for spring break with 3 children. This is a wonderful home. I highly recommend it to anyone who just wants to get away from everything. It is extremely clean, and has everything you could possibly need. We loved the kayaks and used them daily to venture out to the nearby islands. The owners are great people who will help you out with anything you need while you are there. It was like being in a private tropical island. We went 4 days and never left the house. Your property is private even though there are neighbors. They provide a grill, hottub, everything you could ever need in the kitchen, fishing supplies, snorkel gear, sand toys for the little ones, and the chair hammocks will rock you to sleep within 10 minutes of being in them. We enjoyed the visit from the area Manatee 3 days while we were there, and enjoyed sitting on the porch with the ceiling fans for hours each morning. We hated to leave but can't wait to vacation here again soon.

We had a wonderful time with old friends "family" at this property. It was magical sitting on the lawn, in the hammocks and hanging chairs, watching the activity on the bay, telling stories. The view is spectacular, and it was a treat to swim in the morning and kayak in the afternoon. Watching the sunset from the dock every evening was beyond memorable. We found the house clean and perfectly equipped - even for our very large gatherings!! It is conveniently located - we happily walked short walks and rode bikes to the local fishery, grocery store and liquor store to provision. If it wasnt for the need to reload the fridge, I doubt we would have ever left!! A perfect choice for a special occasion Chris and Rich, St John VI
