Clean, welcoming college in an unbeatable spot

The location is amazing and the staff are warm and welcoming. A full cooked breakfast is provided in the lovely hall. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff had kindly accommodated my request for a view of the cathedral. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Chad's again when I'm next in Durham.

Exceptional

The location was superb! Just opposite one side of the Cathedral. The room was clean and the facilities very good. Breakfast delicious and varied.

Fine for a short stay.

Breakfast was good. The location is excellent - just a stone's throw from the Cathedral!

The rather austere furnishings. The walls can do with a lick of paint. Some hairs left here and there on surfaces (from previous occupant/cleaner perhaps?).

The breakfast was excellent. The room was quiet.

The room was in a building quite distant from the College. If here was a TV room I didn't find it!

Very good value budget accommodation.

Cooked breakfast was good, although tables were set out for communal groups - not so good if you like to eat on your own. Location next to Cathedral is very good and easy to find. Check in staff very chatty/helpful. Basic student-style rooms but good value for money. Shower was good. Good free wifi.

My allocated room was in Queen's Court, about 250m down the road from the main building, which meant a long walk back to St Chad's for breakfast - wasn't expecting that. Bathroom - not a lot of room, hand basin restricted space when using the toilet. Bed was comfy enough though you feel the springs through the mattress.

Super city centre location perfect for the cathedral castle and all of Durham attractions/ shops/

We stayed in university accommodation. St Chad's College. The college is magnificent terraced properties, all with gardens. Our room was clean and spacious, en suite shower room, doors opening on to the garden. Breakfast is taken in the main college which is about 1 minute's walk away. Great choice of hot and cold food. All fleshly prepared Location was great. Right in the middle of the historic city. No parking here so parked in mult storey in the city centre, which was £13 for the 2 days. Taxis can drop off outside if needed We had the house to ourselves, no other students there, so really quiet! £90 bed and breakfast for our room which for a city centre at bank holiday weekend, was excellent value.

Exceptional

The location was superb, just next to the Cathedral at the city centre. Breakfast is varied and delicious English /continental. My room was a single room but spacious enough with ensuite shower. Bed very comfortable. The staff, very attentive and helpful.

Excellent breakfast- everything you could possibly want. Nicely cooked. Friendly staff. The location just couldn’t be better as it is so close to the cathedral.

Great stay and really enjoyed.

The location is wonderful, the college is lovely and the breakfast was fabulous. Staff were great; very friendly and helpful.

The room was, understandably, a bit studenty. A little bit spartan and springs sticking through the mattress.

A great atmospheric place to stay in a very central location but not if you're looking for romantic!

Great breakfast, very friendly staff. Very central location and really atmospheric surroundings. Clean. Comfortable beds.

Rooms are basic and functional. Absolutely fine for friends, single trips and families, not so much for couples.
