i love the whole pod-centric hostel experience and this was an excellent example of it. i wish there were more places like this.
i loved the hand-crafted pods and the simple-but-secure management system. and, State Street in Santa Barbara is s great place to be.

The location is unbeatable, close to downtown and to the transit center for easy access to every location in the area. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating when I needed to extend my reservation.
The lockers are close to the front windows, so personal items could not be retrieved with full privacy.

For back packers & travelers without a car, itās a great central location.
The pods are clever disguised with artificial leaves, but a shutter or curtain type that allows for complete privacy is better. The laundry area needs to stop after 10PM until 8AM for sleeping purposes. Needs shower door or curtain. Adequate for the price but no thrill. Iād delete the claim of āfirst hostelā on State St, for āonly hostelā on State Street.
