My wife and I stayed here during the first leg of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The chalet exceeded our expectations.
The owners are a wonderful couple who made us feel more like friends than guests. When they learned that my wife is pregnant with our first child, their excitement was heartwarming. They went above and beyond, sending daily fresh fruit to our room and even instructing tuk-tuk drivers to go slowly over bumps to ensure her comfort—such thoughtful gestures that we’ll never forget.
The property itself is lovely. Brand new, with stunning tropical landscaping, a perfectly sized pool in a serene and quiet setting. The two caretakers—a lovely local husband-and-wife duo—are at the property most of the time, always ready to assist with anything you might need.
While there is a train track nearby, the trains are infrequent, and we weren’t disturbed by any noise. The location was also perfect for us. It’s just a 10-minute walk into town or a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride, which the caretakers kindly arrange for you.
Overall, this property ticked all the boxes for us. We wanted to be close to all the action, but also to be able to retreat to a relaxing and tropical environment as we pleased. If you’re looking for a spacious quiet stay that’s close enough to the lively vibe of Ahangama without being in the thick of it, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!
