The motel is very homey and quaint. The trees and plants are beautiful. Leslie in the office was very helpful and friendly. We had the best dinner at the wonderful Le Chene restaurant just down the road.
While we love places that are old and have history and character, if you are expecting the sterile cookie-cutter perfection of a major chain, go there.
The bed was a little soft, but I slept well.

This motel was on our way home after a 7-day road trip. The person in the office was very nice. It was the most budget motel on our trip. It was quirky and we liked that. The bed was not too bad for a budget hotel. We liked that we were able to park our pickup right outside the room to keep an eye on it- we had household goods in the bed of the truck. There is not much around but Sweetwater Farms Market was only 6 minutes away and it has essentials and even coffee which was really important the next morning.
The pet price was just as expensive as fancy hotels. It was $25 per dog (we had 2 small pugs) Paying $50 plus a ($40 refundable deposit) for one night when the room was only $95 seemed excessive. The carpet was stained. There was a refrigerator but no breakfast, no ice, no cups- not even a plastic water glass, no coffee (not even in the office). Knowing that ahead of time would have been very good. We knew about no breakfast but didn't realize there was no coffee or no cups, even for a drink of water.
