This is a heritage property and very attractive. The location is central, it was clean and the reception staff were excellent. It was very quiet as they had a well fitting door to block the noise from the downstairs bar/restaurant. The bed was very comfortable, there was a fridge with cold water and the shower was good, with importantly a non-slip mat and lovely fluffy towels. Nice welcome message from the staff, little treats and some nice touches such as reading lights as well as bedside lamps.
It was a large room but there were no luggage racks and only one chair, so nowhere to put your ‘stuff’ apart from the floor and chair, so you then couldn’t sit on the chair! There was plenty of room for another chair and luggage racks. There was a big cupboard where folding luggage racks could be stored. It was surprising and disappointing that there was no shaver/electric toothbrush point in the bathroom and no creamer for the coffee and tea selection. The bathroom ventilator was very loud indeed and took ages to turn off. The worst thing however was the room was so hot (the weather was mild) so we did not sleep well - the radiators were not on and even with the window open it was too hot. The room looked really lovely but simply didn’t function very well - very disappointing, especially for the price. Many of these things would be very simple to fix eg hooks for coats!

Located right in the centre of Town and walking distance from the train station. The room was large and well equipped. We had booked a larger than standard room and these are in an annex outside of the main hotel building with a separate individual door to access. The Annex rooms appear to have been recently refurbished to a high standard. Breakfast was a la carte and excellent.
It was pricey but I knew that on booking.

long wait in check in - no one around to check us in.
