Hampton Inn & Suites Ludington, Mi

i really liked the set up of the room, the bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was super accommodating!

the only thing worth mentioning is the water pressure

Staff was pleasant and doing their best to stay calm, friendly and professional despite the fact that they were set up for failure. Location was close to downtown/beach without being in the middle of the chaos. Close to Meijer and Walmart. Breakfast was on time and hot. Bed was comfortable. They did end up discounting our stay due to the inconvenience of the negative parts of our stay, for which we were grateful.

This hotel was so clearly NOT ready to open. When we stayed it had only been open two weeks and the facilities were just not ready. The pool had JUST opened but the heater was broken. It was also flooding into the lobby and they ended up closing the pool completely by our second day. The "meeting room" was full of plastic wrapped mattresses, random chairs and garbage. Our room wasn't ready until almost 9pm (6 hours after our 3pm check in time). Even with a 6 hour delay, the room was not fully cleaned. There was a dirty towel hanging in the shower (which called into question how clean the bathroom actually was), a crusty leftover pizza in the fridge, no coffee set up (no cups, creamers, etc), only one of the three garbage cans had a liner in it, and only one clean towel was in the bathroom. I had to grab cups and towels myself from the cart outside our room. There must have been a staffing issue because we overheard someone at the front desk mention they only had one housekeeper and the regional manager was helping clean rooms. They also oversold the hotel and two of the families with our group were denied a room and had to go stay in a gross motel down the road. The whole vibe was that corporate pushed them to open in time for what was bound to be a busy weekend (Ludington Gus Macker tournament--the city was almost fully booked), and they didn't hit the deadline, but opened anyway. We would probably stay here again in a year or two once they work out the kinks, but I'd avoid this place for the summer/fall of 2026.
