Location full of character, clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room is a little small and we needed to pay to watch any TV. Also had to park at Chateau Frontenac (expensive) because the other lot was full.

I stayed here for 3 nights, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.
The temperature control for the shower’s hot water was broken. I reported the issue on the first day, and someone came to check it once, but it was never repaired. The water was extremely hot, to the point where it was almost scalding my scalp, making it very uncomfortable to shower.
I also contacted the hotel well in advance of my stay to ask whether the room I had booked was the easiest room to access, with the fewest stairs possible. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I had to rely on photos from other guests’ reviews and make my own judgment.
The hotel finally replied only one day before my arrival, when they responded to my separate question about late check-in. By that point, it was too late to make any changes to my booking.
The room I was given was in the basement. Based on the photos in the reviews, it appeared that the room could be accessed directly from outside, which was one of the reasons I chose it. In reality, I had to carry my luggage up to the first floor first, and then carry it back down almost 20 steps to reach the room.
With large and heavy luggage, this was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. Had the hotel answered my question beforehand, I could have made a more informed choice about the room.
One positive thing was that when I checked out, the staff kindly helped carry my luggage back up the stairs. I really appreciated their assistance.
Overall, the lack of communication and the unresolved shower issue made the stay much more difficult than it should have been.
