Wonderful

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! We highly recommend it! Owners are very friendly and accommodating. The apartment overlooks the Atlantic Ocean in a quiet Cape Breton town. There is a grocery store nearby. We attended a ceilidh at the Chestico Museum with an old time fiddler. The Celtic Music Interpretive Centre close by, in Judique, had the best food ever and live fiddle music including a nephew of Natalie Macmaster's. The apartment is very clean, beautiful. The bed is very soft and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need. The sunroom is lovely and has a good view of the ocean and lobster fishing Harbour. Again, we have no complaints. For the price, it was more than we expected.

It was great experience meeting the hosts.

Hosts were just amazing. The location is very close to Ocean and view was fantastic

Our rooms were far from each other. We had misinformation from booking.com. Each room has only one bed and there is no other place to sleep. We travelled with 3 kids under 11. So we slept on floor. Other room was for our parents

My stay was informal and like staying with friends of friends.

Located along the west coast of Cape Breton, the view is lovely, my room was large and with an attached bathroom, and the hosts could not be more accommodating.

Nothing comes to mind.

Beautiful room and view, no breakfast though

The hosts were so nice. It should be called a BEER and BED establishment- which was GREAT! My husband and I were in the area for the Capes 100 trail race in Mabou. It had been a long day- when I arrived- tired, dirty and smelly I am sure- the host, Francis, asked if he could offer me a beer! I had telephoned earlier thinking we would be getting done a lot later- and Catherine assured me that was no problem " there is plenty of hot water and soap"! The accommodations were wonderful! Bed very comfortable- very important after a 28 mile and and 56 mile race! And the VIEW!! such a lovely establishment and hosts were very kind. It was so cool to be so close to all the beaches in Port Hood. I visited 3, and walked the boardwalk at Boardwalk Beach

I was under the impression when I booked the B and B meant that breakfast was included, but it was not. The host did suggest a place close by to get breakfast and coffee. There was a coffee maker in the room, but I was unfamiliar with how to use it. I didn't discover there were no coffee pods until later- and it was late, and I did not want to disturb hosts A card with instructions would have been helpful.

Friendly owners and easy check in. Apartment was very clean and comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Nice view of a harbour.

Cozy and clean

Was met by owner sorry I don't remember his name. He was so polite and friendly. Gave me a tour of the apt and it was SO clean and comfy. The apt was attached the the house not separate but that was just fine. Loved our short stay.

The fridge was a little awkward as it opens from the right- so tight squeeze but for the size it was still great. Lots of pans and even oils and sugars etc to cook with.

Excellent! Look no further when staying in Port Hood!

Francis and Catherine were the greatest hosts ever! The rooms were were spotless and the beds were super comfortable! Look no further when staying in Port Hood! You will leave feeling like family ; ) The location and view were perfect!

House is in front of local marina. Huge tuna was brought early in the morning. With some luck and time on-hand you may venture for tuna fishing one day!

A welcoming stay in Cape Breton

The host were absolutely wonderful! Very welcoming and a wealth of information. Their home is in an idyllic location, the room and ensuite bathroom very comfortable and everything was spotless! We had a delicious breakfast! Highly recommend!!

Wonderful host! I arrived very late but was still met with the most welcoming and kind greeting. The room was lovely and the view from the B&B is incredible. Great location. Really enjoyed my stay and hope to come back again soon!

Excellent location and hosts!

Very welcoming and comfortable place to stay. Fun to exchange stories and find out more about the area. Who knew they caught giant tuna right there in the Port Hood! Delicious Breakfast was complete with all the fixings. Highly recommend Gillies!
