overall such a beautiful and wonderful resort
Upon arrival I was greeted by friendly valet. was promptly greeted at front desk and Shannan was every so friendly. Room was not ready as we arrived early. I was able to check in, given access to facilities and parking. When room was ready received a text and given key to room. Family and Adult pools. Bar area by family pool was great. Food is wonderful and great portions. Stayed in newly renovated room so nice
lounge chairs by fire pit area are infested with bugs. tried to enjoy some time in the sun and sat on the lounge chair and bugs came out eve rT little hole.

Disappointing
The mattresses and bedding are very uncomfortable. No room service. Housekeeping was rude. We asked him for two clean towels for my 5 and 8 year old on our way to the pool because they were freezing and he kept saying we have to get it by the pool. He eventually gave it but he acted like he was passing out gold. Very unpleasant. Also, restaurant told us we can do takeout on Easter Day. We got to pool and put our kids in pool and my husband went to get food and the hostess said we can’t do to go. They refused to serve us despite literally an hour before that telling us we can do it. It’s the only place on site where we could eat in the morning and that’s why I called in advance so if they don’t serve we could leave the property before getting out kids into the pool. So then we had to wait over an hour with hungry kids for the pool bar kitchen to open. Unbelievably rude and bad customer service. Will never go here and will never recommend it to anyone. It’s a pity because the property is nice.

Beautiful resort but extra charges sour experience
Gorgeous location. Of the hotels on Shelter Island, loved the location at the end. Beds were super, super plush and comfortable. Loved the campfires at night.
First complaint is we booked a room described as a garden view room - the description should have said parking lot view room!! Very put off by the extra charges we were hit with. First a resort charge - really didn’t use any resort items other than pool and sat in view of fire pits (couldn’t get a seat at them). Then, they asked if we had a car - so another fee ($42) for parking (they said well you can park on street but have to move your car at midnight). Then get to the room. Water bottles provided ($5 a bottle). We’ve just stayed at 9 resorts up and down coast at same or higher rating level and almost all provided water at no charge. Coffee machine but no cream or sugar. Room service described not happening currently due to staffing issue. Toilet paper holder broken. Bathroom door slides open when you’re in bathroom. Bonfires are wonderful but impossible to get a chair at them. Pool was great and lounge chairs nice but it was very hot and couldn’t get a location in four hours under an umbrella. (Could have more umbrellas up). Daughter ordered food at pool - it took an hour to get it. Even directions to room when arrived. - walked around the whole building with luggage trying to find entrance to room. Simple direction from front desk staff would have avoided this. It’s the little things.

relaxing
location
no ramp to drop my paddle board and no smart tv; wasted hour trying how to connect phone to tv; travel lots 99% of all hotels and motels now have smart tvs and naked connecting much easier…. still loved the property and would stay again, just would be better prepared

bad, we will not come back again… the stay doesn’t worth it
location is good but overpriced
they had a fire alarm test in the morning but we were not informed in the morning. this is upset because all of us were still asleep and once the alarm was on we were alarmed too and tried our best to run away…
