Loved that the history of the building features large in the establishment, making it possible to imagine the firemen and trucks at work while enjoying a fine meal in the cavernous (but not noisy) Apparatus Room restaurant/bar. Little touches left in place like a small hinged window in the hallway and a painting of a fire fighter surrounded by hose and accoutrements on the 3rd floor. Our Foundation King room was airy with tall windows, superb bedding, and the addition of a movable couch and bench offered a great degree of flexibility in seating. Interesting lighting fixtures and a mini fridge filled with a variety of beverages which we removed to use the fridge for our own items. Large walk in shower with a non-slip tiled floor and glorious rain head. The proximity to Hart Plaza is fabulous for Jazz Fest attendees. The Guardian building is not to be missed for architecture enthusiasts. And the Qline on Woodward makes getting to the DIA, library, symphony hall quick and easy!
A few suggestions: more storage space. Night tables with drawers or shelves, a desk with a drawer, a storage shelf in the bath and maybe at least one grabbable bar in the shower. There was no coffee maker in the room but the free lobby coffee was delicious; however, it was not available after 11 am. Not having any ice machines was a minor inconvenience.
My biggest concern was the lack of security in the elevators. Anyone can walk in and go upstairs unimpeded. Please install key card readers for the protection of your guests.

Old building but well maintained. The hotel is just across the street from the Huntington Place. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Complimentary fresh coffee near the main floor elevator, which was nice.
Pricey and breakfast is not included. Some weird odor noted at the bathroom sink might be from the drain.
