Location was exceptional as it really was a very short walk to the sanctuary (gate closest to the sanctuary). Lovely to have a surprise upgrade with a bigger bed. Reception staff were lovely when we checked in and out. Very impressed with reception (Linda?) that she remembered our room number when we checked out after meeting us just once on check in. Very clean.
Biggest disappointment was breakfast. The first morning, there was no staff present when we walked in so we were left waiting a while not knowing where to sit and when staff did appear, there was no apology and our room wasn't even on their schedule. The second morning, we were greeted and told to sit where we had the day before but somebody else was at that table. Pastries were very dry (which was surprising seeing as we were in France), watermelon looked horrible, staff were not friendly at all (no smiles or eye contact when you passed them) and when I asked whether the cut fresh fruit bowl could be replenished, I was told to use the one from the other side of the restaurant which would have been fine but it tinned fruit and when I asked if there was any fresh fruit left, I was told that there was not and then some reappeared after I'd filled a bowl with the tinned fruit (a more appropriate reply would have been to check before telling guests there is none left). The hot breakfast option was limited (hot dog/scrambled egg/bacon). An a la carte option for breakfast is advertised online but I was not make aware of this at breakfast nor was there a menu on the table. I would have liked an extra/bigger towel (to be fair I didn't ask for more so not sure what would have happened if I had asked). The towels provided were 1 hand towel and one bigger towel (but not as big as a normal bath sheet towel) per person but an extra one would have been handy as I had to use a handtowel for my hair. A 24 hour reception was advertised but there was nobody there one evening. Found it worrying that the lift didn't need a pass as anybody could gain entry to the lift/floors. These things didn't spoil the enjoyment of my stay in the hotel.

Close to attractions, clean and nice!

1. We got interconnected rooms in Level 6, the rooms are huge with separate bathrooms and toilets. All rooms have a balcony to sit and relax.
2. This is very close to the Sanctuary, and on a nice little street with so many shops and restaurants.
3. This is a pilgrimage town, so it's charming.
4. Breakfast spread was good, staff were so attentive.
5. It's a straight walk from the sanctuary, no climbing required (unlike the other hotels up the hill).
