Best things- accom in a wonderful 700 + year old building in the centre of the old city, with access to a kitchen with a shelf in the fridge and with an amazing view over the rooftops near the ancient mercato building. Our host Simone was amazing and helpful and even transported us to our winery tour. The room was comfortable and fairly well equipped. Be aware that it is a social cooperative and students live in the other rooms so don’t expect hotel level services and cleaning. Also, for our room, our private bathroom was across the hall. Spacious and everything worked well.
A lot of stairs up but worth it for the view. The only real negative was the noisy mobile aircon unit in our room for which we needed to empty a water bucket every day. I believe other rooms may have proper aircon.

Great location in the middle of the historic centre of Lucca. Charming and spacious room in a historic building. Very cool and stylish bathroom. We liked the fact that there is a kitchen (shared with the other guests) incl. fridge to store some food and shared laundry facilities.
The bed could be more comfortable, matrass was a little thin.

Excellent location.
After a long journey I was told to message on arrival and someone would come in 3 minutes to check me in ...I waited 15 until someone arrived. No apologies offered. The air conditioning had not been put on in advance so the attic studio was hot enough to cook bread..I asked if there was a bottle of water for me in the fridge and was instructed, rather rudely, to drink from the tap. The portable air conditioning unit proved to be totally inadequate. In the shower there were 3 bottles of shower gel/shampoo, two of which were completely empty. After venturing to the nearby shop to buy supplies to stock the fridge I noticed a rather suspicion hair inside it. The refrigerator had not been cleaned for a long time. As someone involved in the hospitality industry I would advise that the property needs better management. In other words you need to up your game.
