Loved it! Staple for travellers

Location was great. Easy check in and out. Quiet. Lounge was awesome cause I had to show up early and stay late. Thanks!

Won’t go back

There was mouse boxes everywhere, and big spiders everywhere. Both fears of mine, so I didn’t sleep. Plus my blind wouldn’t go all the way down, so I was afraid people could see in.

Very good

Ease of getting into the property. One of the rooms was on first floor. Found parking nearby on street for the night. Close to restaurants as we only stayed one night but facilities had nice kitchens and seating areas. Number of showers.

Room on ground floor was noisy due to outside ac.

Disappointing

Shared washroom was clean

Too noisy, even though neighbors don’t make loud noises, I can clearly hear people walking around, press passwords, using washrooms or using kitchen.

ok, but I've payed the same price for much better places

good washrooms even tho shared, great kitchen, the room was ok

The first night I was very cold and the heater was not on, and I couldn't turn it on from my room; I woke up with a bad throat and it was awful... they got it fixed for the second night, but the communication is only through email, there's no one to talk to. I still felt like the window didn't isolate the wind. The price for laundry/dry was 4,50$ but you can only load the card with 10$. The linen and the room floor weren't completely clean.

The hotel is very clean. The bathroom is perfect. Kitchen too. It is great value for money for one night

My room was on the ground floor. It was extremely noisy at night. Indoors there is a room with washing machines and they turn them on at night. Outdoors there was A/C. The noise was just from everywhere.

Comfortable and basic stay in Halifax

Good room, bit small but comfortable enough.

The fact no personal reception. I have not met anyone in fact. Also, a pity the airco or air recirculation system works everywhere, expect in the sleeping rooms. And the windows could not open.

Thoughtfully designed and economical but not worth it if you have a vehicle.

Excellent layout, security, and amenities for a hostel. Very clean with tasteful decor. The location is ideal for exploring Halifax.

No free parking which adds a considerable amount the the overall price if you are driving. No AC in rooms and if you open the window street noise is very loud. If it's a hot day/night it's not comfortable. Beds are futons which obviously have limited comfort.

Dissatisfied

Location

We checked in online as requested. I never received the checkin codes or instructions. I called and was told the director was busy with residents but that there was a kiosk. We got to the site and again did not get an email for the codes and instructions. Called the residence director who again was busy with residents. Got a text for the code but no instructions. The “resident director” is actually a call centre. Bad service. Very small room. Poor value for money.

Great location and value for money, exceptionally friendly staff

Excellent location, friendly staff and cozy rooms.

The bed could’ve been a bit more comfy, but we still slept reasonably well and enjoyed our stay!

Exceptional

Location is amazing especially if you're travelling alone. Way nicer than my university res (shoutout McGill) and everything including all the bathrooms were spotless (not even a piece of hair left on the shower wall). Not having a physical key is great too.

Kitchen and bathroom - awesome. Very small room with a horrible view of concrete and garbage. Air con worked in main areas but not in my room. I had to set fan in open doorway to cool to a good temp. Another patron using a walker, who needed a first floor room was on the 3rd floor. What? I had a room that someone like her should have had but there was never anyone around to talk to about adjusting, trading rooms.

The door to the room would stick on the floor. No way to get a/c in room other than by leaving door open.

Location great, very good value for money but basic

the location can’t be beaten. Super close to the waterfront and the downtown area. Great to visit the city. The size of the room is also quite decent.

It’s overall clean but somewhat run down and in need of renovations. The bathrooms are not all equals, some are super small some are larger. Very humid in the room and can be loud, you can hear noises from the kitchen area, the other rooms and sometimes the streets.

Will Stay Here Again!

The location is in the centre of everything downtown. Walking distance to the water and the Citadel. The common areas were air conditioned and well cleaned.

The room was hot and stuff (this was during the heat wave). The fan helped. I slept with the window slightly opened, but it was noisy outside.

Well priced for basic downtown stay.

It was clean, felt safe and had everything we needed.

I didn’t realize our access codes wouldn’t arrive until shortly before our arrival. It was stressful not knowing if or when they would arrive (or not).

It was a great base for looking around downtoen Halifax!

the location is just great! The room was clean and functional. Though I did not use the facilities, there was a nice kitchen that others used for their meal prep.

It was hard to charge my devices as the plugs were not conveniently located.

The bottom line is - great location

Good location, well kept property. Bed was super comfortable. Single room is tiny.

Self check-in, with mandatory ID upload which didn’t work in my case. There was a constant elevator room noise present in my room, even if the bldg doesn’t have an elevator.
