Beautiful views!

The location is stunning as the hotel sits right on the lake and every room has a balcony that opens up to a beautiful view. The property definitely maximizes the use of the natural views available. The staff are also very kind and helpful. Especially, Sydney (one of the wait staff at the restaurant), Robin (another wait staff), and Zac (he checked us in). The food was also tasty- limited menu but that's the way it should be to keep good quality! They still had great options for me as a vegetarian! Curious to come out here during the summer busy periods!

Our room didn't feel clean - the towels had stains on them, there was a layer of dust on certain surfaces including the backboard of the bed, and the floor was also a bit dirty. The basket that holds the towels in the bathroom was also covered in a thick layer of dust. The bed cover also had some stains. Since we were only staying one night and it was quite late, we didn't want to trouble the hotel. From our perspective, the positives above definitely outweighed the negatives.

Very good

Room was clean, but not the most comfortable. Water was cold after neighbors were showering. Try the Restaurant, we had a wonderfull dinner! Cindy was so kind, thank you!!

Pleasant

The location directly at the lake with beautiful view of Golden Lake. Two outdoor chairs in front of the room to enjoy the direct view of the lake. Free parking.

Room in the basement with low ceilings. The smell of the (probably) scented linen or room spray was unpleasant. Quite expensive taken into account that not even breakfast was included.

peaceful place to recharge!

wonderful restaurant with great options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike! Great location, beautiful view, bring your skis, snowshoes or snowmobiles in the winter and have fun across the lake. Perfect for swimming, kayaking and canoeing in the summer. Love this location, close enough to local towns to explore, but a peaceful place to escape and recharge. Under new ownership the last year or two, really nice people who run the place well!

Did not like having to go home. :)

overpriced for the quality

the view relatively clean hot tub

the restaurant was way way overpriced for the quality of the food it was $13 for a perogie poutine that was more of a cold soup of gravy, as well as way too small the chicken wings were under done and cold I’m a red seal chef so I usually go on the side of the kitchen but seriously you will make people very ill undercooking chicken!!!! it needs to be brought up to an internal minimum temperature of 74C or 164F for at least 15 seconds even if it is precooked and frozen- which I assume is the case here Salmonella is very real the room was okay but really not worth $240 for one night after being in the hot tub for 20 mins there was a rust stain all around from the rusty metal jets one of which didn’t work no soundproofing could hear children running and thumping around lots of bugs all in all we were expecting a much better stay than the one we got - especially for the steep price I would say that it’s better to eat some McDonald’s and sleep in your car save yourself over $300 dollars

Holiday hotel

Room is overlooking the lake and very tidy and comfortable. On site restaurant is good for dinner but will be closed at 7pm.

There is no breakfast provided and no other cafe nor foodshop nearby to offer breakfast. So it is better to purchase food beforehand. Heater is loud and that disturbs sleeping.

It was fine but not the best. Good location.

It was a nice small beach and the view was nice.

I would have liked maybe a chair and small table and maybe another light away from the bed where I could sit, write or read. A small microwave would also have been nice and practical. The plug under the air conditioning did not work. We had to plug further away which meant a wire straight across the entrance door, a little dangerous if you forgot about the wire.

It was a perfect stay to celebrate my spouce's 60th Birthday.

The breakfast was very good and the supper was as well. The staff and servers were very polite and the service was excellent. We really found the food very tasty.

I have nothing bad to say. It was excellent!

Non-pretentions lake life, far away from hustle

Lake view (and the lake). Spacious beds and comfortable rooms. Food is good. Close to Berry's Bay (great Muskoka coffee and sandwiches and Wilno + 1h to Algonquin Park. Great area for canoeing. You can also visit Bonnechere Caves (and that most amazing walk in the Shaw Food)

The terrasse is shared with other rooms (simple panels would help privacy and still make it big enough) and could have been cleaner / freshly painted (as would the outside walls). WiFi is spotty.

Love it. I will be back.

Love The Sands, spectacular view of the lake and gorgeous sunset. Staff very friendly and check in was easy. I will be coming back.

The only thing I don't like is it's 3 hours from where I live. My fiance grew up around the area, but we live in peterboroug.

Enjoyable stay but didn't get the complete value for the money we paid.

The location was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. It was very quiet. The shower pressure was great!

We paid extra for a king room with a hot tub in the room - while there was a hot tub in the room, it gave out a red/rusty foam after about 10 minutes of use. We asked at reception and were told this was due to hard water, but none of the other water in the room (toilet, shower, sink) gave off any of this after using them. This definitely put a damper on our enjoyment of the facilities. The room also had quite a few damp marks and one of the baseboards around the hot tub was not attached to the floor. There was also only 1 ply toilet paper in the bathroom which, when paying as much as we did, felt very cheap and unsanitary (the provincial park up the road even had 2 ply!).

Superb

Directly on the lake, must be beautiful in the summer. Nice dinner, nice room, fireplace and seats on the lake

no real breakfast available, just small things to grab, was a shame, would have enjoyed a nice breakfast on the lake before leaving.
