Great stop to break up long drive.

- Host was very helpful and friendly prior to arrival. - Very clean. - Nice homemade bread and items to make breakfast. - Had all appliances and conveniences needed.

The interior decor and furnishings are very dated but well maintained.

A fabulous hideaway with a delicious breakfast.

The Lake House Retreat was a lovely, homely spot to rest during a long drive. We enjoyed it so much and loved the fresh bread and lovely breakfast. The outlook was also a gorgeous and so lovely to wake up to!

Great place!!

Very big house with beautiful view. Kind owner and a nice present on arrival. A little explanation of how things work would be great ( maybe we didn't look good enough 🙃).

Beautiful B & B

Loved that it was easy to locate, easy access to property, lovely decor ( including real houseplants) , well maintained gardens . The breakfast provisions were delicious . Very tranquil & relaxing . Overall an enjoyable & pleasant stay 🙂 Thankyou ❤️

Personally I was disappointed that couldn't actually SEE the lake from the cottage ( due to reeds). It was the sole reason I chose the property 🙄Also taps could be quite noisy ( which was problematic staying with elderly parents at night) but otherwise a gorgeous comfy B & B .

Overall a good family stay! a good value for money.

It was a quirky place with a beautiful lake view. A big open space with beautiful decorations was great for our family. On arrival, we had a bottle of red wine. We enjoyed bacon, eggs, and homemade bread. Very generous hospitality!

The bathroom and kitchen were a bit out of date for my liking. Some of the taps were minor leaking and building up green or aquamarine minerals. I don't like small tiles in the bathroom. However, it can be fixed easily by replacing.

The peaceful ambiance of the Lake House was a highlight, offering a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by nature, the tranquility of the location was complemented by the thoughtful inclusion of scented candles from the region, creating an atmosphere that was both inviting and soothing. Upon entering the house, we were pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary bottle of wine awaiting us. The hosts' dedication to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere was evident in every aspect of our stay. Their genuine hospitality made us feel like treasured guests. We also appreciated the effort to infuse the place with local charm, from the scented candles to the carefully curated decor. In conclusion, the Lake House Retreat exceeded our expectations in every way.

Love the house

Amazing owner, super friendly and nice, bring me a handmade bread when arrival. The view in room is just awesome, and I love the hearth. The shower was fabulous, perfect temperature and strong flow.

The aircon is a bit noisy

Most enjoyable and very relaxing .

Beautiful location. Decor was lovely with very comfortable beds. Arrived on a very cold afternoon to a cosy fire. a bottle of wine and magnificent breakfast. Altogether one of the best B & Bs we have stayed in.

Great fun! Loved the place - especially with the lake just a stone's throw away! Would recommend!

Breakfast was beautiful! Loved the bread, the milk was fresh and sweet, the jams were adorable, and the bacon and eggs tasty! Would have loved to take the apricot jam home with us! :D Everything was well appointed and comfortable

The toilet was stained pretty badly.

Patchy internet and phone coverage, but that’s the nature of the location, and doesn’t reflect on the hosts or accommodation.

Absolutely stunning and beautiful this entire place. Highly recommended! We will come back for sure.

Well organised, wine and breakfast was gorgeous. They have a fireplace and woods ready, big kitchen with kitchenette, beautiful view from dining/living room and just wonderful! Worth $300-$350 for 2.

- bathroom tiles were bit old and lots of insects were found.(acceptable because countryside) - hope toilet was new if they renovate whole bathroom it’ll be $400-$500 worth this place per night. - couldn’t see any lakes

A delightful surprise.

Very welcoming at arrival, fresh homemade bread and a bottle of wine. Beautiful outlook, probably more than 12 bird species in front of the house.

Scary toilet!!! Just kidding, I was brought up with bore water.

Perfect in every way for our family of five to stay on our way to Melbourne from Adelaide. We loved the furniture, the books, breakfast, the grassed area, patting the dogs, and the serenity.

Cute and cosy lakeside cottage

Fantastic bnb, great bed, super clean little cottage set amongst farmland and a cute little lake. Eggs, bacon and some fresh local bread thrown in. Fantastic.

Very clean. Large spacious room. Great place to break the trip from Melb to Adelaide beaches.

No information booklet. I.e. there were 3 taps over the sink 1 for tank water 2nd for bore water, the 3rd the hw tap. But which was which - city folk not used to a 3rd tap. A welcoming booklet with information like this is helpful

Charming country cottage, generous hospitality, relaxing stay.

Beautiful location for a rest stop between Great Ocean road and Adelaide. Good old fashioned country hospitality mixed with luxury hotel suite decor. Location is very peaceful. Thank you for a relaxing stopover. Homemade bread and local bacon were divine!
