Disappointing, hard to see how this is more than a 3-star hotel.

The kids playroom was the highlight. The lobby and general common areas of the hotel are nicely presented. Room was nice and clean.

The breakfast was genuinely awful which was very disappointing for a supposed four star hotel. They had a wide range of Japanese and western options, they were just done poorly. It was like the only qualification required for their kitchen staff was 'can turn on a stovetop' not actually know how to prepare and cook anything properly! The Japanese and western options were equally bad. In their (large) restaurant, they only had one baby/toddler suitable highchair. Us and two other groups had to quickly take turns with it. We ordered and paid extra for a baby cot that wasn't delivered to the room until we asked twice and hours late, then the design of it was such that our boy could easily climb out. Rooms are not large and the bathroom was of lower quality than 3-star hotels we had stayed in on our trip.

Stylish, friendly and well located

Citadines Namba was an excellent choice for our first stay in Japan. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful (even by the high standard that is common in Japan!). The beautiful art deco building has been thoughtfully renovated to produce a comfortable and fun hotel while retaining the building’s original elegance. Similarly, the room was spacious and practical with artistic touches. Breakfast was excellent. We tried, and loved, the Kyoto breakfast. We also enjoyed the huge selection of Japanese, western, Chinese, middle eastern etc dishes available at the buffet breakfast. We liked the location. We found it quiet but near to shops and a short walk to Nipponbashi station which made it easy to get around the city and beyond.

It would have been nice if the shower was a little hotter, but this is a small matter and certainly not enough deter us from wanting to return.

Excellent accomodation and cleaness. Close to Namba station but far enough to avoid the noises of that crowded area.

Would stay here again!

Great location, very comfortable bed, newly furbished and exceptionally clean. The hotel is very central to the best area to experience Osaka's lively nightlife and street culture.

I couldn't get the heater to work so it was a little colder than I'd have liked, but the bedding was really warm and cosy so it didn't matter too much once I was going to sleep.

Well equipped rooms and nice facilities

We booked some twin rooms and a 1 bedroom apartment that were all quite spacious. The apartment had a kitchenette area, with washer dryer, Balmuda toaster and stove. The twin rooms even have a microwave, which I have never seen in hotel rooms! Lots of amenities. Ice and water dispensers on every floor. They have a kids play room and and residents lounge/dining area. We were a group of 9 and it was large enough to host us and still have room for other groups. Having 2 lift lobbies at each end of the hotel was nice. Even though it wasn't super close to the restaurants and bustle of the Dotonbori area (15mins walk) it had 4 convenient stores just a few steps away. McDonalds is also really close.

Requested a baby chair at the residents lounge. Concierge said no, and could bring only bring it to the hotel room. For a family friendly hotel, I don't understand why they don't already have those there. The Hotel breakfast buffet was so-so, but there are some nice nearby cafes that open for breakfast.

Would go back again if I had the chance for sure.

The hotel staff were so friendly and polite. The room was so pretty and most hotels that I’ve been to did not include a microwave or a clothes iron in the room but this hotel does. It is very unique of them to use a wooden key card for the rooms as well.

Great base for exploring the city before the government imposes a tourist tax!

Great hotel with a good location for sightseeing in Osaka.

Location was decent. A walk to trains but we were inbetween 2 stations which was helpful. Lots of food and sightseeing destinations within short walking distance.

The lounge could offer more than just complimentary tea and coffee.

Great location and service, will return to stay again if visiting Osaka!

The location was awesome - close to kuromon and dotonburi, easy access to metro and JR stations. The breakfast spread is diverse and the staff at the breakfast lounge always has a very pleasant smile :)

“Best for family with toddler/baby”

Staff are all helpful. Clean and nice design! Pretty convenient for us who need to prepare food for baby. Self Laundry can do within the hotel, kids playground and gym room. Can easily find food around the hotel and Namba station just 5-6 mins away. Highly recommended!

Hotel justito cerca de Namba

Hotel urbano bien ubicado a pocos minutos andando de Namba. El gimnasio está bastante correcto. Las habitaciones son amplias y algunas disponen de cocina.

Los baños de las habitaciones son muy pequeños y prefabricados. No son comfortables. Las vistas de las habitaciones son horribles. Hotel grande e impersonal.

A Very Good Hotel in Central of Osaka

The room is spacious and very clean. The kitchen is completed with all tools you need. The location is fantastic, 5 minutes walk to namba station. 15 minutes walk to dotonbori. Nearby there's convenient stores and restaurants open till late night.

They said that the breakfast is open until 10am, but actually they are closed 15 or 30 minutes before.

Perfect place for Osaka.

Beautiful and spacious room compared to most rooms in Osaka. An amazing services from the staff. Even if you barely know Japanese, don't worry; most staff can speak fluent English to make yourself feel comfortable. The services were amazing, with daily cleaning services, if you choose to do so. The location was right near the Den-Den town, and only 10ish minutes from locations such as Dotonbori, Kuromon Market, Takashiyama and Namba Parks. You will fall in love with this place very shortly. It is very much worth the money!

Poor communication with customer. I received inconsistent communication from different hotel staff.

There is a children playroom.

The hotel staff didn’t communicate well with customer and made a mistake on the time to pick up bento box. I wasn’t able to get our bento boxes due to the mistake and had to rush to catch the train to airport.

Great hotel a bit out of the way

Very clean, lovely staff, nice room and spacious for Japan, good breakfast with many many choices. It’s about 10 minutes from Dotonburi which is why we chose it—so many great restaurants and a bustling place!

It is quite a distance from the Midosuji line which connects to most of Osaka. I wish it were closer and that is the only thing that would prevent me from going back.
