This was my third stay. Highly recommend! Couldn't be a better location in old town. Breakfast has improved, and there are unlimited coffee refills. This is a safe, comfortable, and charming place to stay right in the heart of things.

Central location
Our room was tiny, with a steep ladder going up to the bed.

Room was a bit cold at night.

It is a beautiful building in a very convenient location. Minutes walk to restaurants and the gorgeous churches in the historical district.
I booked according to the picture and we did not receive the same room.

Friendly staff, beautiful antique decor
The alarm from a house down the street going off all night. With you tube, put waterfall sounds on with my laptop to cover it up!

Helpful staff, beautiful interior court with sky light, interesting history of the building, interesting art and artifacts for decor
Would appreciate coffee available from 6 in the morning

The hotel is very historical, with a recent remodel made the place very inviting and enjoyable.
The hotel is unfortunately (or not) located in a very busy part of the city's historic district. This brings a lot of traffic, both auto and pedestrian, to the area. The only drawback was this this constant noise.

The hotel is located in the historic part of town so everything is easily accessible. The hotel itself Is beautiful and 1 of the 5 oldest hotels in the city. Breakfast was lovely too, was nice to have fresh friut juice and slices of watermelon, accompaniedwith a nice soft brioche roll and jam, and fresh made scrambled eggs and of course coffee. The common area with all the plants just makes it feel so homely and the rooms are nice and spacious with everything you could need. The staff are beyond helpful. I had a slight problem getting a sim card to work and they were very accommodating letting me leave my bag in the store cupboard while I sorted it out, I was able to stay in the common area for a couple of extra hours while I got myself sorted, which allowed me to recharge my phone and get my bearings. Highly recommended for many reasons.
I can honestly say there wasn't anything I disliked about this hotel. Would happily stay again. Lovely friendly staff and was just a nice place to be.

The location was excellent. The atrium was beautiful.
our room was musty. one of our friends had her toilet break and they didn’t fix it for more than 18 hours. Beds were to form and the pillows very hard with no give.

The building is located in the Centro Historico, it's hundreds of years old and charming with a lovely courtyard. Way in the back of the property, up several flights of stairs was a tiny terrace with a sweeping view of the city that includes the churches and the famous angel statue. Between that and the lovely courtyard the hotel has, I enjoyed myself.
Room was clean, bed was comfy. Housekeeping came promptly everyday in the mornings. My room had no windows and was a little chilly at night but I asked for a space heater and that resolved the issue immediately. My room was also along one one of the street sides but I had no sound issues at all. Also to note, El Centro becomes (oddly) very quiet at night with no one on the streets (like, zero humans), so that helped it be very peaceful at night.
Its a three minute walk to Plaza Grande (the main plaza) so the location is ideal. Lots of restaurants nearby and the hotel staff is happy to recommend some good places to eat.
This has been mentioned in many reviews, the breakfast is simply dismal. The breakfast room is in what was, literally, an old prison dungeon that they kept the insurgents in hundreds of years ago. No windows, dim lighting, no musical ambiance. It's such an odd choice considering they have a lovely courtyard that they could serve breakfast in. Also, the options are the same everyday. Eggs, a piece of fruit, bread, coffee. The combo of a boring breakfast and the dismal breakfast room really makes a less than stellar impression about the hotel considering it would take so little to improve the experience.

The location is perfect. Staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Wish I could have stayed longer.

quaint hotel with charm; location

The location was great we could walk everywhere and their was a convenience store right next to the hotel. The room was very spacious and clean but noisy we could hear the traffic and people talking in the street. Breakfast was okay.
Noise in the room

Location is perfect. Staff (only one to do everything, from cleaning, cooking, open door, answer phone, etc.) were extremely friendly. Not their fault that owners go for the cheap.
Uncomfortable lighting on the rooms, taking into account that they have no windows. Desk and chair looked like designed for a child care facility not a hotel. To get in and out the property you need THE guy to open the electric door. Breakfast was awful, same multipurpose guy as cook, no way!

Location was a bit off the beaten path yet convenient. The room was spacious.
It seemed a little musty.

Location was great if you want to be in the historic district. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good.
The room was really cold and there was no hot water.
9.0
Breakfast was very good and served in an interesting "dungeon". The common areas are very charming. The staff was very helpful. The location close to the Santa Domingo Plaza makes it easy to use the TolleyBus system.
The room had an awkward layout, but that just means I'll ask for a different room next time.
