Amazing!

Beautiful historic place. The staff was amazing, food in the restaurant was great, beautiful swimming pool and grounds. The room was super nice with a balcony. Super welcome respite after our Mount Bromo trip. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Overall good, lovely Art Deco ambience but memoriessmall issues

Breakfasts quite a good variety of Asian and international options

Standard of maintenance in our room was disappointing: the AC control did not respond to changes even by hotel staff The USB ports did not work and had to be replaced A loose connection in a table lamp caused constant flickering TV remote not working- new batteries required. Individually these four issues are all small complaints but together suggest that maintenance is a weakness, particularly in view of the premium pricing of this hotel

It's worth going to Surabaya just to stay here!

Staying at the Hotel Mahajarit was blissful. We were only in Surabaya to break up the long train trip from Yogyakarta to the ferry terminal for Bali. Happily, we followed the advice of the rail guru, The Man in Seat 61, not to miss this place. Built in 1911 and richly historic, it’s a cool haven in the heart of the city. In an upgraded room, we could not have been more comfortable or appreciative of the value we were receiving. Public areas and the pool are maintained impeccably, and my traditional aromatherapy massage in the hotel spa was superb. The included breakfast buffet offers an extraordinary range of items, and the lunch and two dinners we ate in the hotel were delicious. Bravo to all the hard work to make the hotel function so well after so many years.

We had no complaints about anything.

Excellent place to stay.

Beautiful classical location with perfect service by personal. Nice swimming pool and very comfortable bed. Will come back soon.

The adapter for electricity was not good, and replacement didn't help either. As the rest of Java doesn't have this problem, this was remarkable. But again the nice personnel helped out.

Everything I had hoped it would be, highly recommended.

Fabulous historic hotel with lovely staff. Great meals (breakfast included, and we had dinner in the restaurant on two occasions). Well located. Loved the gardens, the space, everything really.

great stay in Surabaya at Majapahit

ambience, location, 5 mins walk to Tunjungan Plaza, the Martha Tilaar Spa, selection of food for breakfast and pastries. The staff were nice, and friendly.

For the last 6 years, I always stay at Majapahit at least 2x a year for work

very very very beautiful and location is superb. Tunjungan Plaza and local market call Pasar Genteng is walking distance. Breakfast is good, you will get everything you need in the bathroom. There’s coffee maker, SDB and refrigerator. The standard room is huge.

the power plug is UK/G type, not Indonesian standard. But, you can borrow the adaptor at front office. Swimming poll is at the hidden area

10/10 experience in Surabaya

Beautiful heritage hotel, with delightful gardens, kind and attentive staff. Very good breakfast. Huge room with a marble bathroom. Comfortable bed, great shower-all the amenities! This is the Raffles Singapore experience without the price tag. Don’t stay anywhere else in Surabaya.

A quiet and peaceful stay at a piece of history.

so unique to go back in time and stay at a piece of history. There is so much history at the hotel, it was so fun to learn. the breakfast was soo good (especially if you like Indonesian food). the hotel was very quiet despite being on a busier street. we loved our stay.

Historical hotel, well preserved n well manicured garden and lawns too

I left a bag with 2 pairs of shoes- i called the next day to ask if they can find it. But noone called back to let me know if they did or not. I expected them to update me- they have my details

Blissful.

The heritage architecture, the vintage fixtures and the spacious grounds.

Service could be improved. A request for shower gel took more than 20 mins before it was delivered to the room.

Historical vacation

Room was clean, the bed was comfortable. There was a reasonable variety of food during breakfast. Overall, the building complex was really well maintained, especially being a historical site. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Nothing significant, only the TV remote was a bit unresponsive, toilet flush sometimes kept flowing. One morning, the staff during breakfast seemed slightly unresponsive on food spillage. Nothing other than those.

Superb

It was a famous historic building, called Yamato hotel in the WWII era. The colonial design building was totally renovated with the latest technology, which was this hotel's most significant impressive point. very well designed and renovated. The room is wide and confortable.

My room was a highly concentrated location of mosquitos. I requested the e-mat and spray. no problem but you need to choose a room or be careful about it.
