Wasn't happy with booking.com as they said we were in an ocean front room... they never confirmed with the hotel.

Not pleasant; bad.

Only the location

Unfortunately that was the worst accommodation we had in our 14days road trip in US. A truly disappointment. Not recommended at all. We paid quite an amount for a room not renovated most probably since the 80s. The Eden building we stayed was awful. The tragic thing is that the most likely inexperienced receptionist welcomed us by saying that Eden building is a beautiful one which definitely it isn’t. It was also the first room to see in which the espresso machine lies in the bathroom! We spent quite a few days staying in IHG hotels during this trip; however after this experience I will definitely choose to use a competitor hotel chain in road trips as such . Also I would expect from booking to highlight when a room or hotel is old and not renovated.

The facilities were great however our room was on the third floor in a building with no elevator.

The man at the front desk I believe he was the manager was very short with myself as well as other people.

The coffee was awful. However the pool and the view were beautiful. The facilities were beautiful. They placed us in a part of the building with no elevator and 3 flights of stairs. They told us it was 1 flight of stairs. The cleaning lady was very nice.

Terrible customer service

The disrespectful andf highly unprofessional attitude of the manager There was a cofusion about what type of room I booked. The description on your site was confusing. The manager kept talking down to me .: "Booking . com narrates the description. : I am not responsible for the description of the hotelI do not own booking.com. Yes your booking indicates a room with as pool view but I will give you such a room only for 1 of the 3 nights you booked. We are overbooked. If you do not like what I am offering you can go somewhere else" I would dissuade people from staying there I called Booking.com: this did not resolve the issue. The agent said " The hotel provides the description. The description "Pool with a view" is confusing " I asked for her manager . She said she will connect only if the hotel des not get back to me as they promised her they would when she talked to them. The hotel did not. At that point I gave up and decided not to call back and to move the next day to a room with looking over the parking lot. I am a regular customer of yours I was disappointed by booking.com

Property and location was nice

The rooms and hotel were very dated and way overpriced for the room. Decor was old and musty - hotel rooms were so out of date for the price.

Exceptional

Love the water front view ! Restaurant breakfast was delicious as was Italian dinner ! The grounds were beautiful and the handy bus stop out front made the trip to town so easy ! Fantastic vacation!!

Nic stay thigh and we had an enjoyable time in Bar harbor though mainly because we rarely stayed in

Very nice staff, great location for the shuttle into town.

Room we were in # 238, looked directly out onto the venting equipment of the kitchen below, as in there is no view. Also due to the room's proxity to the kitchen there was a lot of noise from the kitchen. Annoyed that I was still charged full rate. Even worse is the "facility charges for things I never used. Taxes and fees that don't end. Basically, they get you six ways to Sunday.

Do your research before staying here

Good location, the housekeeping was quite good which surprised us given past stays at IHG The grounds especially in the back of the property were nicely landscaped/beautiful.

We stayed in the Eden House and it is very dated. The furniture was old and frankly ugly. The fitness center was a joke. it smelled and had no towels or anyway to disinfect/wipe down machines. This was not a vacation about staying in a hotel, if it was then I would have been very disaapointed

I loved the location of the property on Frenchman’s Bay. The grounds were beautiful.

I thought the rooms were outdated and carpeting very worn. The price was very expensive and they didn’t provide shampoo, but did provide conditioner lotion, mouthwash.

Great Location with stunning view of the ocean

Great location and wonderful view from the room. The Italian restaurant on-site was wonderful. Liked the long hours of hot tub and pool which was perfect to relax after hiking in Acadia National Park. The property is well maintained and had lots of open space. The staff was warm and friendly. There is a bus pick-up point inside the hotel in case you do not want to drive to Downtown. Overall had a great stay!!

No buffet breakfast. The breakfast was a-la-carte and had limited as well as unhealthy options especially for people who do not eggs. The reception staff is in a hurry and do not listen carefully to guests questions. While I was enquiring on alternative breakfast options, they issued refund for breakfast to my room. Also, during check-out I was deciding mode of payment and reception charged my credit card.
