The room was good and well fitted in a newly converted hotel. Parking was expensive, about a third as much as the B&B, but as it was on the street right outside the door, in a space reserved from the council, the cost was understandable and the amenity considerable. The location was great, a short walk from the main square and only a very short walk from the nearest part of the wooded strip surrounding the old town. The admin staff, working in a open reception area between street entrance and lift, were all friendly and attentive. The overall impression was folksy and personal rather than big and efficient, a good combination.
The cooked breakfast was included with the room but provided in a nice cafe a couple of hundred yards away. The walk was pleasant as the weather was good, but it would have been problematic were it raining. The breakfasts themselves were fine, several choices, and paid for with a voucher from the hotel.
