Just blocks above all of the fun and action on Bend’s popular Westside, you will love "coming home" to relax in this peaceful, wooded setting. The High Camp Retreat is in walking distance to Drake Park and downtown Bend, if you don’t mind a steep few blocks up on the way back home! Or, hop on one of the provided bikes, cruise down the hill, meander through the charming neighborhoods, and explore Bend like a local. Nestled in the pines with sweeping views from the large back deck, the High Camp Retreat provides the perfect setting for your gathering of family and friends. Newly renovated, you will love the rustic, contemporary decor with comfy, upscale furnishings, and all of the modern amenities. Bask in natural sunlight in the unique sunroom off of the living area, or cozy up with a book by the gas stove and watch the snow flakes drift down through the pines. Enjoy a movie on the HDTV from your own Netflix, or hanging out with family and friends! Open up the garage and play a indoor/outdoor ping pong tourney! So much to fun to be enjoyed in this wonderful home. After a day of adventure, relax and unwind in your own private salt system hot tub enjoying sweeping views through the pines and a Central Oregon sky filled with stars! (hot tub hours are from 8 am - 10 pm. Bend enforces VERY strict noise ordinance laws). Prepare an unforgettable meal in the fully equipped kitchen with sit down dining for 6, and two additional counter stools. Or, cook out on the gas grill and enjoy a microbrew, Bend style! Everyone knows, the key to a fantastic vacation is a good night’s sleep. There are 2 king bedrooms on the main floor, one with a private bathroom and shower. The guest bathroom also has a shower. Sleep well tucked into European style bedding with CLEAN down duvets and high thread count linens. The third bedroom is upstairs with 2 twin beds and a HDTV so kids and teens can hide out in their own space. There is also a small day bed/bench for an additional littlest one, please ask us for details! Stayed with a few friends and really loved the place! Good location with easy access to Bend’s attractions. We got snowed on pretty hard during our stay but the fireplace really kept the place warm! Highly recommend! If I have one request it would be that the bathroom doors could use locks. Not really a big issue if people knock but it would be nice to have the privacy. Other than that, an excellent property!

We stayed here recently with a family of five - my wife and I and two of our adult children with one partner. We had a great time. The house was clean, perfectly sized for our family with comfortable beds, nice hot tub and nice amenities (wifi, TV, AC, bikes to use, etc). Everything was as advertised with no complaints. The location is very good with easy access to downtown and a very nice park (we generally walked into town). Minor issues were that the grill was dirty when we arrived but easily cleaned. And there were only four forks in an otherwise well stocked kitchen. Overall we had an outstanding time and would recommend this property without reservation. It is in a quiet neighborhood which is emphasized and was perfect for us.

Absolutely loved staying here. We were able to easily walk to all major Bend restaurant/shopping "hubs". Particularly loved the sunroom! Would have loved to use the hot tub but it wasn't available. When we had wifi issues the host quickly resolved it for us. 10/10!

The house was very conveniently located to Portland Avenue just a few blocks from downtown (easily walk or ride bikes) and Newport (lots of places to eat - again easy walk/bike ride). Back deck was really nice - bikes were great as well as ping pong table. Beds were REALLY comfortable. The only feedback I would give was that there is little sitting area in the living room - if you have 6 people there is not enough seating for everyone to watch a movie and the current furniture is not comfortable. I would suggest to the owners to get a comfortable sectional at some point. But can't beat the location.

My spouse and I along with four friends did our annual visit to Bend to see a show at the midtown ballroom. We had a lovely stay. We stayed in the master suite. Very comfortable with deck and hot tub off the room which sadly we didn’t use. Our friends were comfortable too, although two grown men stayed in the upstairs room with twin beds. Better suited for kids up there! The kitchen had everything you could need. We used the BBQ which was great. The location is perfect, close to downtown. I especially loved the atrium room where I sat and read while listening to the rain. We would rent this house again!

Overall, the place was great. The location, house and amenities were everything we had hoped for, esp since it is difficult to find an accessible house. I wish they'd add railings to the toilet area and would make the shower accessible. Also, we had been told that the whole main level was accessible but the hot tub deck wasn't and that was disappointing. Still a great house though.

Another Great Trip to Bend!
We had a wonderful week at the high camp retreat! The house was spacious and the hot tub a welcomed oasis after our long hikes and days mountain biking. The staff at Blue Bird Day were exceptional and very responsive when we reached out. We'll definitely be back!

Great stay in Bend
We loved our stay at the property. The amenities, including the hot tub, ping pong table and bikes provided lots of fun. There was a lot of space, the beds were super comfy and the location was fantastic.
A few of the bikes need to be fixed as they were not able to be ridden. One had a tire that was about to pop and another had a bit of a broken seat. We did get good use out of the other bikes and rented a few more around the corner at a bike shop.

This west side Bend home met our needs beautifully. The sun room odd the living room makes this home special. After a strenuous day of skiing at Mt Bachelor, the sun room was ever so inviting for sunlight and relaxation. We had fun biking into the downtown area and to Drake Park along the river. Everything worked well!

Even though the place is a 5 minute walk to downtown Bend and in a dense residential neighborhood, I felt like I was in a mountain getaway. Sitting in the sun room is like being in a treehouse. The house was nicely furnished and equipped with all the necessities. Lots of nice spots for reading and lounging. The hot tub is a great spot any time of day.

We loved our stay!
The house was a perfect fit for us! We loved the use of the bikes and ping pong table. The house was clean, fresh and welcoming, we loved the sunroom and eating on the deck. The location worked well with our hiking adventures as well as a short walk to town. We loved our stay in Bend!

Dogs are not allowed on the beds or furniture.” I thought maybe this was just a blanket cover page that didn’t apply to our particular rental. However, a dog food bowl and separate water bowl placed out on the floor of the laundry room suggested otherwise. We spent most of our time in Bend out hiking, and so previous canine visitors didn’t ruin the trip or property, but it was surprising. I would love to rent it again but probably wouldn’t if it is being used by tenants with dogs. In every other way it is a great place.

A lovely honeymoon destination
Check-in was incredibly straightforward. The house was clean, cozy, and close to town. We enjoyed taking the bikes out for a spin and used the grill multiple times during our stay. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked with essentials. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and are already talking about how we'd love to return!

Great post wedding getaway!
My wife and I stayed at the high camp retreat the week after our wedding to take in and enjoy Bend. Location is great, walkable to downtown. Very spacious and comfortable, all the amenities you could need and more. Hot tub and sun room are great added bonuses!

Pleasantly surprised
I really try to not give all 5-star ratings if they aren’t earned but we loved this place. Any member of the group that visited would book there again. I can’t say enough- perfect size, super comfy beds, quiet, great hot tub, well appointed and was within walking distance to all downtown and brewery activities we were looking to try and close to the trail heads we had come to visit. Highly recommend!

Awesome house that has everything you need
Went to Bend to Ski Mt. Bachelor and this was the perfect base camp to come back to after a full day on the mountain. Great location for access to all things in Bend but also private and quiet if you are looking to chill in a nice cozy house. The house was very clean upon arrival and they even provided extra towels for the hot tub, which were super appreciated. The King beds, pillows & furniture we all really comfortable too. The Kitchen had everything you needed and more! Totally understand why it says the place isn't for "rowdy groups" as It's tucked pretty closely next to other houses in the neighborhood so anywhere outside you might near someone's window so you just need to be mindful of outside volume. Hot Tub was excellent and we loved the glass room. So much sunlight! This place really felt like home for our stay and we cant wait to come back!!

Great house in a beautiful location
We stayed at this house over Christmas break and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is comfortable, cosy and spacious. The hot tub is great. Best of all, it's just a quick 10 minute walk from downtown Bend.

Just perfect!
This was exactly what we were looking for in a home base for our family of 4 and our trip to Bend. The house was well appointed and had everything that we needed. The beds were very comfortable, the house was well maintained, and all questions were answered very quickly by the management staff. We will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic, quiet, All we needed and more
Went to Bend for a week of Biking and relaxing. The High Mountain Retreat fit our needs perfectly. There were two couples and we had a room with 2 single beds to spare. Rebecca at Bluebird Day was fantastic to work with and checked on our needs upon arrival. will definitely work with them again.

High Camp is a perfect home for a family. from the sun room to the bedrooms to the ping pong table, there was a quiet and relaxing space for all!

Traveltime
We enjoyed our time at High Camp Retreat- great floor plan and comfortable bedding. The location was convenient but private and quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and grilling wares. The garage was a plus with a very nice ping pong table. Every day at dusk we had a doe and her fawn eating apples from the tree in the yard. Cozy home - we hope to return!
