A gem of a hotel in a village ten minutes' drive from Chalons-en-Champagne, just opposite a cathedral-sized mediaeval basilica church. Comfortable rooms, wonderful staff and a top-class restaurant.

We were immediately welcomed with a smile and told where everything was including the lovely indoor swimming pool. Dinner was absolutely delicious.

The staff were friendly and helpful and our room was nice, a decent size, clean and with a balcony. It is a good location just off the motorway.
I booked last minute on our journey back to the UK, and on my phone and I normally do more thorough research. So the fault is more mine. It is a shabby and depressing building from the outside on a busy road, and the dining area and corridors were dated. The window boxes were uncared for. The breakfast at 25 euros was poor- cheap meats and cheap cheese, bottled juices etc, and a rather old fruit salad topped up with a bit of fresh melon. The dinner too was very disappointing for the price. The food was style over substance, and not up to scratch. Proper 'foodies' beware. The bread and the cheeses were great though.
