About this condo rental
Nestled in Port Aransas, this charming condo for $660 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Port Aransas registration number 248283. Our JVRAwesome*Beachfront*Top Floor*Penthouse* Condo, "JVRAwesome Beachfront!" has a totally unobstructed gulf of Mexico view from a gulf facing wall of glass doors, panels and windows that span the living room , dining area and master bedroom. Let the view and sounds of the gulf soothe the stress away. Our top floor, beachfront penthouse includes a large living area with sofas and a large screen TV, spacious dining and bar area, plus 4 separate bedrooms and 2 full baths provide plenty of room for playing games and relaxing. There are 5 Televisions. A door between the living area and three of the bedrooms ensures that night owls and early risers do not disturb each other. We have a washer and dryer in our condo. The living area looks directly out on the beautiful waters of the gulf of Mexico and has a sliding door to the oceanfront balcony. The living room has a sofa, loveseat, two comfortable chairs and a large screen TV. The dining area looks directly out on the gulf of Mexico and has a sliding door to the oceanfront balcony. There is a beautiful dining room table with additional seating for four people at the counter top bar. The main bedroom has beautiful ocean front views, a king bed, flat screen TV and an ensuite bath with a walk in shower. The 2nd bedroom has a king bed, flat screen TV and views of the gulf waters. The 3rd bedroom has a king bed, a set of bunk beds and a flat screen TV. The 4th front bedroom has a full over full bunk bed, a twin trundle and a flat screen TV. At the end of the hallway, next to the 3rd bedroom, the bathroom has a shower/tub combo. We do have a passenger elevator that is shared with the other penthouse condo. Adults only new elevator installed in 2016. We have implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the property between stays based on information from the CDC. We cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs during this period as the full time is needed by the cleaners. Island Retreat is a great place to spend time with family and friends. This smoke-free condominium is beachfront . . . you simply walk over the dunes on the boardwalk to the flat part of the beach. Two pools! Pickleball, volleyball, shuffleboard, tennis, basketball all on the 25 acres of Island Retreat to enjoy! Fish House and Boat parking on-site. The beach is awesome for playing with the kids, acting like a kid yourself, enjoying the scenery, taking a long stroll, a morning jog, reading a book, or delighting in the last rays of a gorgeous sunset. If you don't feel like getting sandy at the beach relax by one of the two pools or play some tennis, volleyball, shuffleboard or basketball. Or simply treasure pushing your child in a swing on the playground as they giggle with enjoyment. Port Aransas has some great restaurants for when you feel like eating out (or you didn't have any luck fishing). If you feel like exploring there are plenty of options - scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, deep sea fishing, Aransas Wildlife Refuge and Whooping Crane Habitat or the beach! Please note that while the listing frequently states "one night minimum" there are times throughout the year when we have more than a "one night minimum" even though it may say "one night minimum". One of the best if not the best VRBO property we’ve stayed at! Clean, roomy, perfect location. I couldn’t find the door code on my phone so had to text Jane. I was embarrassed, but she graciously responded immediately. When the reviews say kitchen is well stocked they aren’t kidding. Anything you could want. You won’t be disappointed.

This property is so beautiful with plenty of room. The kitchen is amazing and had everything needed and then some. Everything about it was nice…..good towels, sheets, pillows and we loved the dining area with a table large enough for all 8 of us. The decor is just so pretty! I felt like I could move in. The location was great too. The boardwalk is nice, and we enjoyed both pools as well. The property looked well kept with flowers blooming and common areas very clean. We can’t wait to come back!

This unit is excellent. We loved the location - quiet but close enough in town for a quick trip to the grocery store or to grab a bite to eat. Very comfortable beds/linens with cute decor. We have been staying at Island Retreat for 30 years. This is, by far, the nicest unit we’ve stayed in, with four bedrooms with comfortable beds, great ocean views, and a spacious living area area. The elevator wasn’t working when we arrived (someone had overloaded it), but Jane worked diligently to get it back up and running. She was exactly what you’d hope a host should be. Five stars all the way!

We rented this beach condo with the anticipation of hosting my husbands 40th and my mother-in-laws 62nd birthday. It was a party of (4) adults (2) college adults, and (3) minor children. At the initial booking, the host wanted all names, ages and addresses for all people staying at the residence.
At the time of check-in (4:00pm) the house was a disaster with food on the floor, trash on the floor, all bed linens were used and the house hadn’t been cleaned. Upon reaching out to the host, she didn’t believe the place was a mess and requested us to send her pictures. Then she promptly blamed her cleaning crew for not doing their job. She informed us it would take approximately (1) hour for them to get there and then whatever time it took to clean the place and wash linens. It took the crew several hours inside the house, while my family sat at a picnic table outside the condo waiting to unload our vehicles.
At the conclusion of the cleaning, the cleaner told me that she was never informed by the host/owner of the schedule to have the house cleaned. When we went inside it was evident the cleaners only “tidied” up the place because there was still food on the floor and blue toothpaste on the face of the guest bathroom cabinets. So we commenced to cleaning that up and moving our stuff into the rental.
The following day , we noticed a crack while cooking. We continued about our stay there, and figured the host/owner already knew of it since it was already there (our mistake for assuming). We finished our stay and left the house in better shape than we received it in.
The day of our checkout, not more than 30 minutes after we informed the host/owner of our departure, she emailed me saying we broke her stove and demanded to know what we did to cause the damage. It was explained the crack was there prior to us, yet she demanded that we’re the causation of the crack and that we would have to pay for the replacement. We explained to the host/owner through several messages that it was not caused by us, yet she didn’t care to hear it.
So if you plan to rent from this host/owner, please make sure you scour the place for damages or missing remotes big charge for those to insure there’s no damage or missing items. We should of done the same, and maybe we wouldn’t have been in this position. If you want a relaxing time with your family or friend without the constant worry , this is us not the place for you

The unit was clean, the kitchen is stocked with everything you might need, the living area is comfy, and so are the beds (our friend never sleeps in, but he was sleeping until well after 9am each day). The location to the beach is also a win, plus you can sit on the large patio watching the waves and listening to the surf. Jane, the owner, was also communicative throughout the rental. All in all, this was a great find.
