Large comfortable bed, smaller pillows requested and provided quickly. Fridge, kettle and coffee maker provided. Thick curtains that kept the light out. Quiet location but easy walking distance to the old town where there were lots of places to eat and drink. Shopping Mall just across the road with large supermarket and departmental store across another road. Lots of busses and trams close by. Excellent buffet style breakfast catering for all tastes with long service hours, we didn't need any lunch!
The room was a little tired with small things not addressed (eg curtain draws only half working). Air conditioning did not work although a fan had been provided. Our toilet flush was loose and, despite reporting it on day 1, it was not seen to. 2 comfy chairs would have been nice instead of just one. The wet room floor was very slippery when wet and quite dangerous for us older people!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Cynthia was excellent. She solved some of our problems and was super friendly and gave good advice on what to see in Riga. Room was big and spacious and very good location opposite the shopping centre and nearby the river, gardens and old town. Breakfast was good and menu changed. Nice gesture to have lemon water at the reception.
1. The bed was unusally high. Have been to many hotels but no bed has been so high - what is the purpose
2. The shower is unusual in that it has no door and the water sprays right into the whole bathroom getting the mat totally wet. I cannot understand the rationale for such a construction.
3. No extension wire at the writing table which makes doing computer work impossible as you cant charge your computer. Cynthia helped us get an extension cord. But shouldnt there always be one?
4. No aircon - stifling heat. Cynthia helped us get a fan.
5. Room is very dark in certain areas - we had to purchase a light at the RIMI supermarket as the room was too dark at places.
