Nice rooms and great Gym. Breakfast was good quality
Room service stopped at 22:30 which is not great if you've been on a night out

Disappointing
Comfy bed
Was not the room I booked or paid for. I booked a queen room and paid over £350- was supposed to have a balcony, views of Tyne bridge and compliments such as robe, slippers etc. shower was not working properly and hanging off wall too. Was put in a double room which on website was £150 cheaper what i paid…. Our room had a view of a metro line, no compliments except two cans of water. Spoke to staff who were rude and abrupt who informed us that they could not move us as hotel was full!! Very very disappointing and hoping to have a resolution

Enjoyed our stay
Location looking over the Tyne is great Beautiful hotel, reception, bar areas Leisure facilities great All the staff were very professional and friendly, a credit to the hotel
Breakfast was cold. No option of fried / poached eggs. We could see the chef prepared freshly some pancakes but we weren't told about any fresh breakfast items that could be prepared, only to help ourselves to the buffet. No museli available and when I asked for some, was only given gluton free museli. I would expect to see museli available. However to be be fair; there was a wide choice of other items with freshly baked bread / pastries, cold meats, cheeses etc Room was large but basic with just a double bed, although I accept that was what we had booked. Due to the size of the room a queen bed would fill the space better.

Great staff and handy location but otherwise underwhelmed
Staff were very friendly! First impressions - walking into the lobby with a view of the Quayside - were good! The room was spacious, comfortable and well lit, the bed was comfy, the shower was really good. The location was really handy for walking along the Quayside or further into town.
Very disappointed with the cooked breakfast. Mushy eggs, the bacon was somehow dry and soggy at the same time, the hash browns had a slightly oily, burnt taste to them. The orange juice tasted almost as if it was watered down. We didn't bother going to breakfast on the 2nd morning. I feel the view from the room didn't match what is offered in the photos, as I paid extra for the promise of a view of the Quayside and our room turned out to be more west-facing than I expected and we actually had to strain a little to fully see the Tyne Bridge from the window. We also had to pay a £30 deposit, a little steep in my opinion, I assume in case we helped ourselves to anything from the mini fridge, but in our room we found only an empty cabinet where the fridge presumably once was. In general, the hotel felt more geared towards the "away on business" crowd than us and I personally don't believe the value for money was there.

Reservation input error stating I did not have a booking for my stay is very poor service .
Bedroom with view over River Tyne . Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice . Nice open lounge bar area. Located near the Glasshouse to attend music recitals.
Reception could not find my reservation on checking in . Fortunately I always take my Booking. Com booking confirmation. On re checking the receptionist found my reservation . Someone had input my Christian name as my Surname in error .

Too expensive
The bed was comfortable & the location was excellent for us.
I felt the room was average there was wallpaper ripped off the wall in on area, the wall under the window was marked, the desk chair was peeling. It was disappointing, the room was nice but the value in the room wasn’t there.
