Room was spacious and very well appointed. It couldn't have been better Dinner was excellent and breakfast very good, with fresh ingredients well prepared. The staff were very well trained and extremely welcoming. The public rooms and the grounds of the hotel were stunning and steeped in fascinating history.
This is a really exceptional hotel.

Beautiful setting. Lovely room. Comfy bed. Both shower and bath.
Lovely staff.
Delicious breakfast.
Just wish I'd spend the full 3 nights of my stay there instead of justthe one. So glad i made the decisionto move from the place i had already booked and paid for.

The location is fine. The weather robbed us of the views as there was a storm
The service was very very slow. From checking in, little things like asking a customer what time they'd like to eat and saying it's booked. Just say what times are available. Speeds up the conversation. poachers bar wasn't staffed properly. Too long waiting. She did her best. Bar filled up with dirty glasses. Staff didn't have time to ask how everything was because being constantly asked for spoon for soup or steak knife or menus. Not asked for drinks order once during meal. Food was okay but not great. Not sure what sauce I got but wasn't peppercorn. Everything was a little off timing, staff everything.
