The building was very nice, we've stayed in the doggie house, (as taking a dog, and it was an independent house), but all was very nice decoration wise. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely gardens with views over the hills of Exeter. We had dinner also and it was very nice food.
The shower was very nicely placed but could not make the water get colder so I had a scalding shower, followed by my husband and my sons on the other room that their showers were freezing. They have this kind of knob that you have to push in to turn but none of us figured it out. It was not massive, but would be easier to have an easier tap

Excellent location and far more personal than chain hotels. Staff very friendly and helpful. Grounds lovely. Appreciated dog friendly hotel.
Breakfast excellent
Room 14 was rather small especially having a dog with us.
Bedside light not working
Generally rather a ‘tired’ room
Our initial visit to reception was not ideal - receptionist friendly but we had to stand beside her desk as the 2 chairs in front were occupied by 2 women talking which made it difficult for us to be together and hear what the receptionist was saying. It just felt a bit awkward.

Looked lovely, receptionist Amanda friendly and welcoming. Spa cute but sauna not working.
Our room was in the car park in a separate building. The restaurant and bar staff did not smile or speak. One was very rude.
