Great location. Breakfast was amazing. Room view was poor, but that might be what I selected. Rooms were small but adequate. Reminder that a "double twin" room is two twins pushed together - Americans always forget that.
Pillow were lumpy, view wasn't great.

I loved this hotel, and had a wonderful experience staying here. The location is great, there is shopping nearby, good restaurants, etc. and everything is walkable. The receptionists were outstanding, especially Jeanett, who was incredibly informative, friendly, and helpful, and took personal interest in my exploration of the city and my fjord trip. She offered great advice. The room was exceptional, breakfast was plentiful and superb (try to go at an off-hour), and I could not have been happier with my stay there. It was by far the best place I stayed in Norway, and I will be back for sure. Do not miss eating at the 9th floor (?) hotel restaurant. It was my favorite meal in Norway! I am sharing a photo I took from my table in the restaurant. Outstanding views, service, and food. And Ålesund is a beautiful and interesting city. Definitely take time to go to the Art Nouveau museum. Also, try Norwegian sushi! So fresh, of course!
Not the hotel's fault, but there is supposedly a stop right at the hotel for the airport bus. I waited there for 20 minutes and saw on the app: "delayed." Next time I looked it said the bus had already passed. There was never a bus that drove by--I was right there. Luckily Uber came right away when I called. The Uber driver told me that if the airport bus is running late, they cut out stops. Don't count on the airport bus!
