On the first night the seabass meal was very small and I was starving after a long hike
All the other meals had reasonable additions to the main item but I had a small
Pile of lentil ( not more than 1 tbsp full ) and few strands of cress
It was very disappointing
We ate here last year I was very impressed

Breakfast everything you would like

The rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable (a good firm mattress) with great water pressure in the showers. The staff are fantastic, so welcoming and helpful. The spa area - pool, infra red sauna, steam room and particularly the outdoor jacuzzi - is excellent and such a treat after a day of walking! Breakfast is great, high quality ingredients and great variety. It’s a perfect location to start walks in the surrounding area and with a bus stop right outside to take you elsewhere such as Windermere or Grasmere.
Some of the rooms lack ventilation and as the building is quite old can hold heat, but they do provide fans to improve air flow! The mattress in our room had a tucked in flat sheet rather than fitted sheet which meant it came untucked during the night, but this is likely due to the larger mattress size being hard to buy fitted sheets for!

Good location and maintained well, food good and staff polite.
The sauna and steam room in the bedroom suite didn’t work on any day…. Which we had paid a lot for.
Bath was filthy.
Hotel would not give any compensation, but Booking.com did… thanks team
