Location was amazing. Rooms where a good size, comfortable and clean. We had food here during our stay which was incredible, good menu selection for both adults and children. Friendly and accommodating staff, we had a laugh with Josh he was great and the breakfast team where also fabulous. We would absolutely return here to stay again!
We where seated at a reserved table around 4.30pm and asked to place our order at 5pm once service began in order to allow enough time to complete our meal and for them to have the table back for 7pm. This was no problem for us, we ordered on time despite the large que, food took around 45 minutes to arrive as it was busy. We had no issues waiting and managed to eat and order dessert by 20 past 6 giving us 40 minutes to eat and leave the table. Desserts took over half an hour to arrive and at around 6.40pm, before they had arrived we where approached by a gentleman - who we later discovered to be of the management team - and rudely told the table was needed back in 10 minutes and to basically hurry up and move. We tried to explain about our desserts but he had said there was no time and hurried off. We then spoke to a lovely woman, also management, who was shocked we had still been waiting on desserts and reassured us that we would not be rushed off the table and accommodated for us and the reserved party who had arrived. Again we had no issue waiting on food we appreciate a busy restaurant and timing was not the problem, just the rudeness of the gentleman who spoke to us poorly is what has taken our stay from 10 star to 9 sadly.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming

The location is great for exploring the town and local countryside
The bed was made up of two single mattresses on a small double base,so nearly rolled out of bed multiple times,pillows were uncomfortable also

No lift for the top floor. Expensive like most acomadation in the lakes.

"Large room (especially for a single guest!) overlooking the main shopping street, and with views of the fells. Thought it might be noisy outside at night, but not really a problem."
