We had a lovely family stay at the Castle Inn and would highly recommend it. The location is excellent for exploring the Lake District and Keswick, and we were at the Dodd Summit trail within about 10 minutes by car.
We booked two rooms, both of which were very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
A big plus for us was the three EV charging points, as we were travelling in an EV and had been slightly anxious about charging during the holiday. Having them right at the hotel made life so much easier!
There’s plenty to do at the hotel too – table tennis, mini golf and a tennis court certainly brought out the competitive side of the family! The bar was great, and the breakfast and service were excellent.
A very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We’d happily return and definitely recommend the Castle Inn to anyone visiting the Lake District.

It was a maze. Had lots of character . Our room was clean.
Majority of staff ignored us. We ordered food for breakfast and had to ask where it was as it took about 50 minutes to arrive. Management just ignored us - just one nice member of staff apologising but everyone else wasn’t pleasant at all. Another table near us left as they couldn’t wait any longer. No apologies my for them either.
