it was great for a night

breakfast was unexpectedly great

on arrival, was bit disorganized. looked like they hadn't been there for very long and not sure of the process. needed an extra person on reception

Quiet, cosy, and relaxing.

The interior of the hotel was very quirky and cosy and the room was bright and larger than we expected a small double room to be. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were plenty plug sockets in useful locations all around the room. The bathroom had a large walk in shower which looked like nothing special but was powerful and more than adequate. We didn’t notice until we’re checking out but the bathroom also had a heated floor which could be turned on. Overall it was very comfy and quiet.

The hotel is about half an hour walk from the centre of town, but we knew this before booking and we like to stay a bit out of town in a quieter location. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you straight into town.

An excellent place to stay in Oxford.

This is a lovely small hotel close to the city centre. It has the enormous advantage of parking. There is an excellent bus service into the centre just outside the door. Staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. We arrived early and they made us coffee and offered us cake as we waited for the room to be available. And we were upgraded. The bed and room were comfortable but the bathroom was stunning.

Not ready for guests in my opinion.

Lovely and modern reception area.

Arrived early evening and our room wouldn’t open, was put into a different room and expected to stay there. Left the hotel the next day to explore and received a phonecall to tell us our stuff will be moved without us being there to a different room. The room we were then put in was a lot smaller, the light switch didn’t work and the shower room had loose floor tiles and shower was leaking into the room.

Very recommendable hotel, would absolutely come back to stay here if I come back to Oxford.

Welcoming and courteous staff, good breakfast, lovely design. It is a 10min bus ride from town but don’t let that deter you, there are several bus options either a very frequent schedule.

The walls are very thin and one can hear neighboring rooms and flushing and water draining during showers as if there is a microphone in the bathrooms. The extractor on the bathroom was very dusty, as well as the heater in the room. The rooms can get very cold during the day but they heat them up during the night.

A horrible experience. Warning to everyone.

The location served my visit to Oxford.

A horrible experience. Nothing luxury about the listing. But, worst of all, came back from outing and found my room door wide open, all my belongings exposed. Money missing, case opened. The 'manager' let a a worker in with no prior warning and despite the 'do not disturb' sign I left on purpose so no-one would enter in my absence. When confronted, the 'manager' became aggressive shoutting and refusing responsibility or anything wrong. They don't even have cctv to check who went in and out. There were different people (cleaners and others) coming and going, so anyone could of done it. I called the police and reported it. Not at all what I was expecting from a short visit for business in Oxford.

A pleasant sojourn.

Confortable, elegant interiors, nice hosts, good breakfast, facilities around.

Six stops from the city center. Very small room. Breakfast needs more diversity.

A very nice, quiet hotel with great staff.

The staff were extremely helpful in guaranteeing that I had a quiet, restful stay. I am very grateful to them for that. The room was pleasant and I especially liked the wooden floors. It was tastefully decorated -- not always the case in Uk hotels.

The room was perfectly nice, but could have done with a little bit of decorating TLC.

Lovely place - room directly to Banbury Street rather noisy from lots of traffic.

Good Location in very nice Summertown (local part of Oxford). Very friendly staff.

Shower did not work properly (Little water pressure and either only cold water or super hot)

The property was lovely, the staff were helpful and super personable. The breakfast was really nice and the general decorations and vibe were just great

disappointing!

Public areas - beautiful breakfast conservatory.

No glasses in our room for drinking water. one bedside light not working, no mineral water in the fridge … all aspects we are used to having from our usual hotel stays.

perfect stay for a days work in Oxford

comfortable. clean. quiet. easy to hear up the room. staff friendly without being intrusive, great if expensive Indian takeaway/restaurant just across the road (awesome food mind)

Good and I will certainly continue to book at this hotel when in Oxford

Breakfast very good but had to pay extra for it - this was not the case when I visited this hotel in 2022

My bed was up against the wall in a smaller room than I normally have had on previous occasions. There was no bedside table

The bathroom is new and nice. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly.

The room was noisy. You can easily hear the other guests next to the room.

comfortable bed an quiet room, but cold shower!

most of it was very good. clean, comfortable bed, quiet, good location for where I needed to be.

The reason for my poor review is that the water in the morning was cold. I ran the shower for ages and, even turned right on to max heat, the water was cold (not freezing like running cold tap, but definitely cold). This was at 7.30am, so not unreasonably early for a weekday. I really wanted a hot shower to wake up ahead of a long day, so this was very disappointing.

Disappointing that the room rate didn’t include breakfast. No power to sockets one morning. Impersonal, no real lounge.

The location was perfect for where I needed to be. Staff very friendly, helpful, and professional.

The morning staff in the kitchen were very friendly, especially Charlie. Charlie was very efficient and knew what you wanted in the morning, he would engage in conversation, etc...The cook was also very friendly and always looking to see if there was anything that he could make or get for you. My room was clean upon arrival; however, the daily housekeeping was not good. I oftentimes had to ask for soap, bath towels, and a restock on tea, cream, and sugar. This happened on several occasions, not just once. There were often kids of the housekeeping staff playing inside my room and sometimes the dusty clothes that they used were left inside my room. It was not good. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was good. Charlie also went above and beyond when I asked if he could help me out with a laundry situation. He not only made sure that my laundry got to the hotel before my departure, but he went and got it himself. Thank You, Charlie, I appreciated that very much!! Other staff at the hotel such as the receptionists, and others were all very personable, friendly, and accommodating.

The only thing that could have been better was the housekeeping. I feel that they did not pay attention to details. Specifically, I left three notes for them asking for soap, clean towel, and tea/cream and it was not addressed, until one morning I ran into some of the staff and I specifically asked her for the items, which she then gave to me.
