Loved visiting Cartagena. Will stay elsewhere next time.

Although I paid and booked two rooms, only one was available our first night. Instead of telling us immediately the situation, we waited hours until we found out. Staff told us they would comp our first night and a dinner. BUT, when we checked out, they DID NOT comp us, merely did not charge us for the room we DID NOT HAVE (our daughter and son in law had to sleep on a pull-out in our room that was much too short). I have repeated tried to have them respond without success. The Movich is much too expensive to have treated us in this manner. Do NOT recommend.

Disappointing

The location of the hotel is excellent

The price for the value was totally off, the hotel and its amenities are quite old and worn off. The doors are so thin that you can hear everything hallways. The A/C is so loud that you can’t have it on during the night. moreover, the night table was not properly cleaned (see pictures). a hotel that claims to be a luxury hotel should offer a way better experience. we won’t come again

location

our room was on the second floor. it was very loud. The sound (voices, appliances) travels up the staircase, particularly early in the morning as the staff is preparing for breakfast.

We were very happy and can't wait to return!

The hotel is beautiful and the location is fabulous. All of the movich employees are attentive, friendly and caring. They made the stay comfortable and stress free. They are always wiling to help and assist when needed.

Everything was great. Very small detail but the outdoor furniture cushions could use a cleaning. The hotel and housekeeping does a good shop with housekeeping and sanitation.

Not worth what you pay for

Bellboy Javier was extremely friendly and helpful. Different toiletries available in rooms, including shaving kit. Friendly staff, kept our bags in reception without hesitation.

The rooms are not worth hype, seems like the hotel was really great at some point and needs some new love. Restaurant is dark, appears as it isn't open. The rooms are basic and small, no place to unpack. Arrived from another boutique hotel (Casona del Colegio) and half the price you can get much newer, ample, and comfortable room and a much better breakfast. Quite disappointed for with the stay, had received great comments about the hotel and was looking forward to it but it didn't live up to the expectations.

brilliant breakfast menu, wide choice rooftop bar is just amazing central located friendly staff

rooftop bar very occupied and visited by external guests, not just hotel guests rooms on 6th floor quite noisy, they are cleaning the rooftop bar until 23:30/0:00 rooms bit out-dated, especially the airconditioner. lot of noise and got 2 levels: off or freezing

Not what you expect from a 5 star hotel

It was clean

First day we ordered breakfats to the room and the food was kind of cold. Another day the soup in the restaurant was also cold. This should never happen at a 5 star hotel and to be honest I cannot say this is a 5 star hotel, more of a 4 star.

One of my if not my favorite hotel.

Everything about this hotel was exceptional! I've traveled a lot and I've never felt more welcomed and comfortable in a hotel. The staff is top notch and the hotel will have you in awe from the moment you walk into the lobby. Victor (receptionist) will meet and exceed all of your expectations.

PLACE IS AMAZING, STARTING FROM THE STAFF TO THE ROOMS TO THE VIEWS. And not mention the location is right in the middle of everything in the wall city. I will definitely be back.

This property exceeded our expectations. It’s location is perfect and honestly the best view of the city is from its rooftop pool and restaurant. The pool area is small but it was never crowded during our stay. The drinks and food were delicious. At the pool Armando was charming and made excellent food and drink recommendations. The sunsets are incredible from the rooftop. The breakfast is to order with plenty of options and was always fresh and delicious. Sandra always had a smile when taking our order and even brought a pot of coffee to our room a few mornings before we heading down for breakfast. Sergio, Victor and Nelson made reservations for us for dinner and coordinated an excellent day at the beach in Playa Blanca with private transportation. It was an absolutely wonderful stay.
