You should definitely choose to stay here. It offers incredible value for money, far beyond what you pay.
The accommodation is located in the heart of Kinosaki Onsen, close to several public onsens. You can walk around the area until the evening without feeling that it is deserted. Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is at 10 AM. Guests receive a QR code pass for onsen hopping throughout the town, and there are lovely yukata to choose from.
The hotel has an old, traditional appearance, and the interior is larger than I expected. There was a welcoming tea ceremony, which was very impressive. The lady who demonstrated the tea ceremony performed it with such beautiful and graceful movements.
There are two small onsens that can be used privately by locking the doors. I particularly loved the cave onsen.
The food was truly excellent, just as I had read in previous reviews. Both the quantity and quality were outstanding. There was so much food that I could barely finish it all. The meals included crab, grilled meat, shabu-shabu, desserts, tempura, sashimi, and almost every kind of dish I could think of. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly generous.
But what was even more wonderful than the food was the kindness of the people who looked after the hotel. It made me realize that although Kinosaki Onsen is a beautiful place, the kindness of its people is even more beautiful.
I was traveling alone. Although I am quite used to solo travel, I usually have very few photos of myself at the places I visit. I never expected that I would have so many photos of myself from this trip.
The gentleman who looked after the accommodation took so many photos for me. He even chose the photo angles and props for me. He was truly very kind, and I am extremely grateful.
On the day of check-out, he also drove me to the station and kindly stopped at several places along the way to take photos for me. He even helped me inquire about the bus information for my onward journey.
The room was spacious, even though it was a single room. It looked a little old, but I slept comfortably. However, the room was probably the only downside of this place. There was a toilet but no shower, which was fine with me. Unfortunately, the sink drainage was very poor, and the pipe seemed to be clogged. The bidet function of the toilet also did not work, as the control panel showed what appeared to be a low-battery symbol (?). In addition, there was no Wi-Fi signal in my room at all.

First, I loved the town. Kinosaki Onsen is a really charming place full of wonderful people and wonderful food. Second the Onsen hopping concept was so cool, you get your pass and can go to the seven official onsens. Thirdly, this accommodation was so charming. The decoration is so 70s, truly beautiful, our room was great and spacious, the futon was so comfortable, the breakfast was generous and delicious. The staff was impeccable, very kind, helpful and attentive, the owner even acted as our personal photographer. They even helped me with wearing the yukata correctly. I'd definitely come back!
