Location is good. Second or third time staying there. One staff member in particular was excellent especially in the way she interacted with my daughter.
The pool was absolutely freezing, which was a shame as that was one of the main reasons for going there. We asked several times to heat it up which they said they would do but nothing changed. When we checked out the last day, we let them know. The lady at the reception told her manager who didn't even come out to say anything to us after making the same complaint 3 times during our stay and receiving different reasons for why the pool wasn't warmer.
Considering the price increase of the hotel since we started, I expected better communication and customer service. This is now definitely a premium priced hotel without premium service.

We booked two double rooms for our family of 4 during the marathon weekend. The hotel is in a super location right next to the marathon startline (as well as being near the bridge, looking over the Maritime Museum, near the cube houses and Markthal etc) and our rooms had a great view over the course. We really appreciated the 12pm checkout so we could come back after running the quarter marathon in the morning and have a welcome shower and see the marathon itself go by below, before checking out. Staff were very helpful. The Illy coffee machine was great, the shower was excellent, premium bathroom products and nice to see them in more sustainable pump packs rather than those fiddly little bottles, and the kids really enjoyed the bath and the novelty of the tv embedded in the bathroom mirror. We were sorry we couldn't do the breakfast due to our race. My first ever Booking.com booking was to stay in this hotel nearly 20 years ago when it was the Golden Tulip, and we had very happy memories of that trip (and breakfast!) and were glad to see the hotel, although under different management, was just as great as we remembered.
Rooms were close but not next door, which would have been ideal as our kids are too young to share a room so we were constantly popping between rooms. I also always look for a hot chocolate sachet to enjoy before bed but there was only coffee and tea this time, although they were good quality.
I was also plagued by the Booking.com 'hack' and despite paying up front about 8 months in advance, received multiple fraudulent emails and messages in the Booking app over a period of time requesting payment or this booking would be forfeit. Booking.com promised to investigate when I reported it but I didn't hear a thing from them after that, however from other news reports it appears that the breach was rather due to poor cyber security at this and other properties enabling malicious actors to access the Booking.com login used by the properties, rather than a breach at Booking.com itself.

Beloftes die niet nagekomen zijn en communicatie. Mijn kamer zou gratis versierd worden maar niet gebeurd. Vervolgens werd er een meerprijs gevraagd en ik vond dat prima en vervolgens is er niet gereageerd en kwam ik in een kale kamer!!!!

De locatie en de inrichting van de kamers was mooi.
Zeer gehorig, op één van de door ons geboekte kamers lag nog een t-shirt van een vorige bezoeker, de andere kamer was niet helemaal schoon. Er was overlast van dronken mensen rond middernacht, maar dat is natuurlijk buiten de macht van het hotel.
De bedden zijn van goedkope kwaliteit, op het moment dat je omdraait hoor je de pocketvering nagalmen.

De badkamer is gedateerd. Luxaflex die scheef en vies zijn, ondanks het bad doet het smoezelig aan.

De kamer was erg mooi. De bedden sliepen zeer goed. We hadden leuke spulletjes in de badkamer, zoals een haardroger/ wasgel en conditioner. Ook hadden we een tv in de badkamer. De locatie is top, de lift is ook een spektakel op zich.
De prijs voor een nachtje blijven slapen is erg duur, ook het parkeren bij het hotel kost een fortuin. Het ontbijt was lekker. Een tip die ik denk velen leuk zouden vinden zijn lokale producten. Er was bv geen pindakaas bij het ontbijt en dat is nu toch iets heel typisch Nederlands?

Ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid en werd zelfs een een half uur voor het ontbijt stopte nog aangevuld.
Keuze uit verschillende soorten cornflakes, fruit, charcuterie, brood, koffiekoeken en drank.
Het hotel ligt op wandelafstand van het centrum dus na een dagje shoppen ben je snel aan je hotel om te gaan relaxen in de wellness of in de jacuzzi op de kamer.
De wellness op zich is een leuke extra. Je hebt ook van hieruit een uitzicht op de Erasmusbrug.
Vriendelijk personeel. Ze boden ons meerdere opties om te parkeren. Ze gaven niet alleen de optie voor de parking van het hotel.
De parking van het hotel is redelijk prijzig. Rond het hotel zijn meerdere parkings die goedkoper zijn, maar dit is altijd 5 minuten of meer wandelen van het hotel. Als het aan het regenen is of je heel wat bagage meehebt, is het fijner als je aan een goedkopere prijs zou kunnen parkeren aan het hotel.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Man kann fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen.

Location and overall style
The room were not cleaned as expected for a 5 Stars hotel and too late in the day.
Aldo tea and coffe were not always allocated and not enough. I had to ask for toilet paper once which was missing.

Staff was not friendly, only girl at check out was very nice. The worst thing was that this hotel was booked months in advance and specifically because it was promoted as spa hotel, I asked for massages on check in and they tell me it’s all booked for weekend. I was shocked as I didn’t get any information or warning that I need to book massages in advance. I actually had to send additional email and ask for spa menu to prepare for the weekend and again no information was provided about booking upfront massages.
We requested early check in, they couldn’t even make it to have room ready until at least hour before. In every hotel at least they try when it’s specially requested, but okey understandable if not possible it’s not promised.
Furthermore, I asked for additional (charged on top of course) decorations in the room, walked in and nothing was there (but keep in mind room was being prepared until 15:00).
Last thing that I can’t understand is that indoor pool water was so cold, everyone there were shocked when they step foot in that pool.

De Sauna in de Wellness deed het niet. Dus als ik geen Sauna op de kamer had, dan was ik de sigaar.

Het was een heerlijk ontbijt, vriendelijk personeel bij het ontbijt en een vriendelijke kok die de gepocheerde ei maakte.
De badkamer heeft een beetje opknap nodig. De televisie in de spiegel deed het niet en je mist een plankje in de douche om je eigen shampoo op te zetten. De opwarm tijd van de sauna is zeker een uur en geen half uur. De temparatuur is dan 70 graden.

La suite, ainsi que la vue "sur mer" était incroyable. Les sommiers étaient très agréables, tout comme la chambre de manière générale.
La salle de bain a rencontré toutes nos attentes : équilibre parfait entre la douche à l'italienne, "l'immense" bain à bulles, et le hammam (ni trop grand, ni trop petit). Le fait d'avoir les toilettes dans une pièce attenante de la salle de bain était un vrai plus.
Le petit déjeuner était de très bonne qualité. Et le service d'omelettes cuites à la minute par le chef a clairement été la la très bonne surprise du séjour.
La petite dinguerie est la mise à disposition d'un distributeur à glaçons dans le couloir. Vraiment top!
Mieux renseigné les restaurants situés à proximité de l'hôtel.
Ce n'était pas très clair et c'est dommage de ne pas promouvoir davantage cette approche.

Bij binnenkomst kregen we het verkeerde kamertype toebedeeld. Na ons bij de receptie gemeld te hebben kregen we wel het juiste kamertype.
De kamer was verre van schoon, er hingen spinnenwebben, er was "veel" schimmel in de douches.
De sauna was onaangekondigd buiten gebruik (defect) de gym was verouderd. Het koffiezetapparaat werkte niet en de algehele indruk was smoezelig
We komen al 10 jaar met volle tevredenheid minimaal 1 x per jaar in Mainport Rotterdam, maar na afgelopen verblijf zullen we hier niet meer terugkeren helaas.
