We checked into Lake Villa Resort on a Saturday and overall had a very pleasant stay.
A couple of us initially stayed in the tree houses, but as they were a little old, we requested a room change. The staff were very accommodating and upgraded us to a family room at no additional charge, which we really appreciated. The family room was spacious, comfortable, and well suited for our group.
One of the highlights of the property is the location. When you sit outside, you get a lovely breeze coming from the nearby lake, making it a great place to relax and unwind.
We also had breakfast at the resort on both days, and the Sri Lankan breakfast was absolutely delicious. We literally wiped everything clean! They were also happy to accommodate our preferences, which was a nice touch.
Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Spacious rooms, good food, a beautiful lakeside breeze, and very accommodating staff made it a great weekend getaway. Would definitely consider staying here again.
The only minor downside is that the road leading to the property can be a bit tricky, especially towards the end. However, once you arrive, everything else is quite good.

Such a beautiful setting. Fantastic to swim in the pool with the lake in the background. They arranged a full day safari for us and provided packed breakfast. What a wonderful day that was. The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
We stayed in a treehouse which was not a problem for us but you need to be fit and able to get up the stairs.

Lovely staff, especially the chef and driver. Unforgetable views to the lake. Everything is clean.
They offered me vegetarian options and I had an amazing big and tasty breakfast at the unique scenery of the lake. The safari I booked with the hotel was well organized.

I really enjoyed everything during my stay.
If I may suggest a few improvements, I would recommend providing a hairdryer in the bathroom.
Additionally, it would be great to equip the windows in the stone house with either proper mosquito screens or plexiglass, so guests can enjoy the light and the view without mosquitoes coming inside.

The pool is small and with broken tiles that gives cuts.
A bit run down - but staff is doing their very best.
Though the address is Tissamaharama we ended up paying 3.000 ekstra for the pick up by Yalas Safari-people because the hotel was too far away.
