If you are visiting Sigiriya this could hardly be better. Cool, comfortable, hotel at the top of the main street, just a short walk from the entrance to the Lion Rock reserve. The walk itself is great: the path mostly follows the old moat, which is scenic and full of lily pads, and there are lots of birds in the trees above. Lion Rock itself is absolutely spectacular; the steps are challenging but if you pace yourself you will be fine. Staff at the hotel are exceptional: friendly and helpful, they also found a driver to take me to Drambulla Cave Temple and Polonnaura, which are both definitely worthwhile. Rooms are a good size and comfortable, breakfast is a well stocked buffet. I had dinner one night as well, which was fantastic: had the local dish Kottu, which I loved. Overall a fantastic stay! Excellent value for money and made everything very easy.

This place is in incredible, made even better by exceptional staff. From the moment you check-in which is an experience I'm itselt we were made to feel extremely welcome. In particular both Wimoktha and Sandhu made out visit exceptional. They gave us so much information and were some generous and warm. We've met alot of people on our trip in Sri Lanka and these remain our favourite. They are both really incredible at their jobs. We also loved the swimming pool, and breakfast.
Sound proofing on the windows could be improved, only minor criticism.

Breakfast was good. Staff were very nice. A/C and ceiling fan good. No stairs, easily accessible.
Bed was too soft.
